Saints Brees #16?!?!? (1 Viewer)

in sports media world there are two ways you can actually make it. Be in the top 1 percent in terms of charisma or say really controversial stuff to keep yourself talked about. Chris Sims is probably in the bottom 1 percent in terms of Charisma.

There are people on this forum who acted like we'd be better off with Bridgewater or Hill as starting quarterback in 2020...... So I would label those kinds of remarks as being far less intelligent than this one....... which, let's be very clear, was very unintelligent in and of itself.
Bridgewater was undefeated as starter last season not Brees.

Many of those games won in spite of the QB play, not because of it. And no denying the defense played out of their minds for that stretch because they knew the offensive output wasn't going to be Brees-like. TB is a good QB, but he's not even in the same conversation as Drew Brees.

He has figured out that criticizing Brees gets him a lot of clicks from Saints fans coming to tell him he is an idiot, so he continues to do it. He is probably laughing to himself as he does it. If Brees wasn't around, he would be saying Aaron Rogers or some other top end QB is "bottom half" or something like that--just to get their fan bases riled up.

It is similar to what I told my daughter years ago: "Stop watching the Kardashians. You are only keeping them relevant." Stop reading Simms's articles. You are only keeping him relevant.

With all due respect, what in the hell are YOU watching? And why? It's Chris Simms...
I saw a headline, didn't watch, after that. Seemed unnecessary.
But the sharing here for Sims ridicule seemed appropriate.

No worries tin. I wasn't busting on ya, just chuckling at the irony. I'm with Sandman in post #19 above. Simms can say DB9 is #16 QB in NFL, or he can say DB9 is the #1 best HOF QB in history of the game...either way, who cares what Simms thinks or says. He was a non-descript also-ran QB, and the mediocrity continues as a talking head. Like Skip Bayless, Stephen A. Smith, Shannon Sharpe, and some others, he's all style (bluff, bluster & blunder) and no substance. Famous for being an idiot is still famous. Relevant for moronic thoughts is still relevant. Like Sandman says...quit making him relevant.

Brees better win this year. Better beat Brady twice. He better win.

Other than the fact that Brees' arm strength has diminished, Sims is way off on Brees. However, he did place Brady at #15, which a couple of fan bases would deem sacrilegious.

I caught his segment this morning when he talked about Brees at 16 and Brady at 15. To be fair, he really didn’t say anything bad about Brees. He said what everyone should have seen these last 2 seasons. defenses can play close up because the long ball is gone, his arm strength is decreasing with age, and he’s a 1st ballot HOF QB and game manager now that could still get the saints to the Super Bowl.

Some on the board will always disagree with anything they perceive as negative , but Simms was spot on with what I heard. Today and last season, Brees is a game manager future HOF QB that CSP adjusted the game plan to fit Brees’ strengths. Short to intermediate passes that give the WR a chance for yards after carry. This in no way takes away from what he already did for the team. I’d rather the team win the super bowl with a #16 ranked QB then lose with a #4 ranked.

Simms also said that Brady is decreasing as well, would probably throw it away if cam Jordan is coming around the end after him instead of taking the hit to complete the pass. He gave Brady the edge on arm strength.

Anyone who thinks otherwise isn’t worth arguing with. Completely trolling or completely ignorant.

Dudes like the younger Simms wouldn't have even had a chance to fail under center had he played in the era of real defense and tackling. I respect his dad much more so than him, though only as a QB, not a commentator.

Again, no one should care what Chris " I miss my spleen" Simms has to say about QBs.

I wonder if his dad feels the same way about Drew? I am more apt to listen what Phil has to say on QBs than his son.

For real. Listening to Chris Simms' opinions on QB play is like listening to Deion Sanders discuss the best tacklers in the game. As if he would know...

In the next segment after Chris Simms...Ryan Leaf & Jamarcus Russell reveal their top 40 QB list.

well, the list does include a qb that has yet to play a down of professional football. at 26 at that. so.....
