I am EXTREMELY disappointed that the Saints management chose to sweep my credit card for the second (final) payment for this years season - especially without even discussing alternatives for what may happen.

The team keeps trying to march towards the season as if nothing has happened, and their sycophants on the radio barely mention the impact to the fans.

Several weeks back I got an enthusiastic email from my season ticket rep (another new one this year), who was "just touching base" to see if there was anything I needed, or anything she could do for me.

I replied that I was not happy with the teams decisions to just ignore the pandemic and plow full steam ahead. I did not expect a response.

She actually called me, and offered to postpone my second payment until June 12th, when they expected an "announcement about a plan that would give us an idea of what may take place". I didn't think they would have an answer by then, but gracefully thanked her for postponing the payment. She assured me that doing so would not jeopardize my tickets.

So - what happens next? They sweep my account for the money on the previously announced date!

I called back and ask for her, get another rep on the phone. "Since we are working remotely it's impossible for me to transfer you to her" - understandable, so I explain... "I'm so sorry sir - I'll immediately refund that payment, and schedule it again for June 12th".

WELL - that never happened either. I didn't even bother to try again, as by then we were approaching June 12th, and it didn't matter - since obviously the y still don't know what's going to happen.

It's NOT about the money. I can afford to have them hold my money interest free. It's about the PRINCIPAL & the ETHICS of the organization. They don't give a DAMN about ME, they just care about money.

It's obvious to every football fan that season ticket holders will NOT be able to attend 10 games this season. But the NFL and the SAINTS are going to grab that money and begrudgingly hold on to it for dear life - regardless of the image or impact on others.

At this point I have NO interest in attending this season - but I don't want to lose my tickets, or the possibility of attending the playoffs if the situation is right - so they have me over a barrel, and don't really care.
I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this bc you are a true fan, but of course all they care about is the money. The fans and community bond together and create something that lends meaning to football and the Saints, and I think the players care too, but if they weren't getting paid, don't think many would stick around for long. You are a transaction to the NFL, nothing more, nothing less.

The poll results match how the general public feels. Most are on one extreme side or the other with few in between.

I know 5 people that got positive test results in the last 48 hours from 3 different states, all exposing family members. There's no way fans will attend anything this year.

To be fair, did you really think any team cares about you? Of course they care about the money, it's a business to them. I'm not saying that it's right but it doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

So there are countries who jumped on prevention early and mitigated risk and have very low numbers
Many of those countries have their sports but no fans in attendance

But us anti-mask, pro-muh freedom I do what I want crowd - with numbers spiking in most states (and out of control in football heavy states); we think we get to go see our sports live?
There is so much cognitive dissonance it’s hard to see any cognition at all

HAD we worn masks and socially distanced from jump, we MIGHT have been able to have attended Fall sports
But no
And I can almost guarantee that those who expect to just waltz into the dome in September have done very little responsible due diligence in regards to public health
Yeah maybe if the experts/authorities didn't tell us the masks were useless in the beginning.

i can buy that
anxiety is often stress caused by things we cannot control
the constant battle of no information, bad information and misinformation is obviously anxiety inducing
in such times we default to our comfort positions and respond to the 'news' that gives us comfort - not a great place to be for conspiracy theorists
had leadership come out and said, 'hey this is legit, we have to make some big time adjustments for a few months, but then we'll be able to manage (like most of the rest of the civilized world did)

i do understand the anxiety - and how weird/stressful the first couple of months was like
but at this point, effect measures are obvious as are bad actions - good, accurate information is out there. we have the responsibility be well informed citizens and act ethically from that information

i'm glad you found Karl
sounds like a good dude

I can't tell you what he did for my life. He helped me in so many ways. He's a special man and I was so blessed to find him.

This is a kinda funny side note. In Central TX, maybe all of Texas but I can't speak to that, When Cowgirl fans get drunk, they can't help themselves from scratching off the 1st "S" in Saints stickers = AINTS. About half the cars I see around here with Saints stickers now say Aints - lol. We need to kick their arse this year!

Your car says Aints, you need a new sticker :hihi:

I don't trust society as a whole to attend.
Those who feel under the weather will still go not caring for the common good. It's why it keeps spreading.

Saints are posting about how Nola needs to do our job and wear a mask. I wish this were a prelude to games this season, small price to pay to have a full Dome. Doubt it would actually be enforced though once in the Dome. Can't keep an eye on 70,000 people

We are hosting a small meeting in New Orleans in August that will be open to the public to attend with extensive limitations. One of the rules is that for every 50 people in attendance there must be a dedicated "social distancing enforcer" assigned to that group. So for the Saints games, they'd only need 1,400 of those. :giggle::LOL::ROFLMAO:
