Best fish I ever had was fresh rainbow trout in Ouray, CO that I'm sure was caught earlier that day because I swear I could still taste the fresh mountain stream water in it. I'll never have any fresher because I'm not a fisherwoman and am too squeamish to bait my own hook or clean my own fish.

Now, when I ordered this from the menu, I had no idea how much like a fish it would still look like. It kept looking at so I had to raise my hand to shield my side eye from its steely gaze while still enjoying its lovely flesh. As a carnivore, there's a lot I am able to put out of my mind in order to eat it. This one was harder because it was literally staring me in the face; but still I did it.

What lies do other carnivores have to tell themselves?

I like fish, but one with the head still on is a huge turn off for me. My wife is from Taiwan and cooks all of her fish with the head on. it's
common practice in oriental nations. Beheaded and fried is the only way I go.

Serious answer.

No.

It creeps me out.

I'll buy a rotisserie chicken, but it bothers me sometimes.

If it had the head on it?

Never.

There's not much that I have issues with eating and fish of any kind is definitely not one of them. Things like brains or balut, are where I start getting a bit put off.

You need some friends like mine who go straight for the eyeballs to eat first. Problem solved. As a person with roots from an oriental nation, fish with head on is completely normal to me.
