On a scale of 1 to 10, do you think the Saints will sign Jadeveon Clowney? (2 Viewers)

I'll say a 6. I think the interest is mutual. But not at the price he wanted. If he lowers his offer to where the Saints are comfortable, he'll sign. Hopefully prove himself and can cash in. Though, I'm not sure how the lowered cap will play into things.

Very minimal. Our cap could contain it, perhaps...but things also carry over and we need major room for next year with extensions to our core (and the salary cap not rising per usual). IF anything we are better served getting Logan Ryan with any possible extra cash that Loomis can find.

If he’s available the week before they guarantee the first game is being played they might sign him. I doubt they want to spend guaranteed money on a 1 year deal without knowing if the season will be played.

I’d put a 5 on it. It’s up to him though. If he wants too much money than he can go play for a loser or he can take less money to play for a winner. If it does happen I think it may happen the week of the first game, so he won’t be ready for a few weeks. So if we do sign him I wouldn’t expect him to play significant time early on, which is fine by me.

I'd say 1 out of 10 (10%).

What some aren't considering is that Marcus Davenport is probably at 90% or better shape physically. Why? Because if he wasn't, Mickey Loomis would have already made the pitch to Clowney's agent to get him in the Black and Gold.

Let's not forget: This season is an ALL-IN deal. So with that, I believe that the Saints are fairly satisfied with Marcus' health.

JMO, and my :tpenny:

We don't need a Clowney in our locker room. We could use another DE because Davenport had a foot injury and they can be very problematic. At present we don't know Marcus' state of recovery. If we don't sign anybody, I think that will answer the question of the status of MD.

what about Griffen...you think he would contribute? Or would he be too expensive

Oh most definitely Griffen would contribute. Yes he is a little older than Clowney but he has been healthy and his status are on point. Better than Clowneys plus he's cheaper. Don't know why their is no buzz on Griffen tho

Didn't realize Griffen was 33. Even at his age, he's still disruptive. Personally I would be elated with Clowney or Everson. Kind of like how I felt last season when we were looking at Ziggy and Quinn last off season.

I like Davenport a lot, however his health remains a big question mark. Maybe this year will be different.

to quote Elvis (Costello), less than zero......... We are not that dumb in the front office
