Nick,

First, thanks for coming back to the Saints. News was pretty bad without you back in the seat.

With Winston coming on board, do you see him improving with our offense and taking over Brees long term or is it just a camp body to compete with Taysom and backup to Brees like Teddy was?

Hey Underhill, thanks for coming on here and doing a great service for the fellow Who Dats!!!! Question I seen that there are many teams looking at Everson Griffen (GB showing interest) do you have any knowledge if Saints were one of the many teams interested or maybe the brass is stuck on Clowney? 🤷🏾‍♂️🙄.

I would think Clowney knows the money he would have to take to join the Saints.

Jameis is here to compete with Taysom. I believe Taysom has the inside track on that job, but nothing is etched in stone. Winston has way more upside if he can fix his issues, and he is going to have every opportunity to prove that during the season. Both he and Hill will take all the reps on Wednesdays, and there has been some talk of dialing Brees' role in Thursday practices, which would create more opportunities for both players to compete.

Nick, besides DeMario, who do you think starts the season at linebacker?

I think it will be Kiko and Anzalone. Both of them are said to be healthy. I think Baun might have the toughest transition of any of the rookies. He's going to need to learn to see the field from a different angle in a short period of time.

Nick, thank you for this and everything you do for us fans.

How realistic is it that Tommy Stevens makes the team, forcing the Saints to carry 4 QBs?

I think it is pretty possible. Looking at him as a quarterback is the wrong way to view it. I don't think the Saints view him as just a quarterback. I think he's many other things first and then a quarterback. They knew who they were drafting. When they made the aggressive move to get him, they did so knowing that Stevens either makes their roster or Carolina will claim him. Now, the coronavirus might change how the team views roster spots, and perhaps the luxury of burning one to stash a player no longer exists, but they knew what they were getting into.

Thanks for fielding questions Nick!

What are the chances Tony Jones Jr. makes the team? I know he ran a 4.68 at the combine but his 3 cone (8th best among rbs) and 20 yard short shuttle (4th best among rbs) were pretty darn good...especially at 220lbs.

Thanks again Nick!

I think it will be hard for a rookie running back to make the team. But he did receive $50,000 in guaranteed money, which is a pretty good amount for an undrafted rookie. The other thing I like is that he gained most of his yardage last season on inside- and outside-zone runs, which would make it an easy transition to New Orleans.

Hey Nick,

Do you think Marquez Calloway can make the 53? Would it be safe to stash him on the practice squad? Do we have a need for another cornerback for depth? Any good ones available?

I think it is possible for a wide receiver who wasn't on the 53-man roster last year to make a run at it. I think if one of these guys can distinguish themselves as a good run blocker I might help. That is one of the things Tre'Quan Smith does well. Watching the Johnson kid from Oregon, he's pretty good at it (to the point I wonder if he could be transitioned to tight end). But as a receiver, there are things Callaway does that force you to take notice.

I do think another cornerback could be needed for outside depth. The UDFA Keith Washington picked a good team to join. Again, won't be easy, but there is a path there for someone to claim a job with a standout camp.
