Bubble idea for the NFL (1 Viewer)

You’re talking about 32 teams with about 80 men rosters plus staff, rehab, doctors, dietations, catering, and etc. Where we need 32 training facilities, 32 weight rooms, 32 practice fields and 16 game day fields.

Then, you have equipment management, film rooms, and catering.

It's a logistical, housing, and facility nightmare.

It's frankly not financially feasible.

It would be if they had 8 bubbles (1 for each division). Put them in neutral NFL cities, ie NFC South in Dallas, AFC East in New Orleans etc. Have them play for 8 weeks to decide who moves on to the Conference playoff bubbles followed by a Super Bowl bubble.

Example / NFC south and NFC east in a bubble . AFC south and AFC east in a bubble and so on ....

If you do two divisions like that it would make more sense to have them be divisions that play each other. Like NFC South and NFC North or AFC West. Then 2/3 of your schedule takes place in the bubble.

That's what I am proposing , just four city's instead of two . With those 8 teams only playing each other . Once playoff teams are decided between the four bubbles you go to a playoff bubble .
Yeah, we are on the same page. I just feel that less is more. It’s the traveling aspect that will do the season in, which everyone knows.

I get what you're saying but they would have to downsize and some people would have to multitask. For example if it was a regional bubble, teams could put together a medical staff to serve multiple reams. I'm sure most of us know we can't take our whole wardrobe when traveling, so each team will have to figure out the bare essentials. If the NFL doesn't have the money, no league does.

It is the logical way to have a season . Set up would just be like teams having training camp away from home . Put up the teams in hotels or condos , dorms what ever is within walking distance to the stadiums in the bubble . Team headquarters as far as day to day operations just stay put in their home facility . That way your not moving office staff , scouts , PR people , people that are none essential to football ...

It’s sad that the NFL had adequate time to find a logical plan and fumbled (pun intended). I just don’t see how an entire season plays out?!?!

Obviously the bubble should not be in a red zone so that rules our Texas (or most NFL cities)
Y’all are stuck on playing in a stadium - you just need a field
Had this started in May, the NFL could have easily built 16 fields
So then you just need a bunch of hotel rooms - I’ve been saying Reno but there could be better alternatives
You don’t need a full retinue of staff - after HC, coordinatiors, and some assts, everything else could be done remotely (not ideal, but could be done)
Keep offense and defense separate (not sure about special teams yet)
Keep position groups as separate as possible as long as possible

2 games Friday, 4 each Saturday and Sunday, 2 games Monday
That’s WAY more tv viewership- should easily cover 8 lost home game revenue - the only question is, does it cover the bubble overhead

Teams aren't gonna wanna downsize or share doctors or rehab specialist. Then, you got to worry about other teams cheating and stealing insider information.

One NFL team is about the size of 6 NBA teams. This is why NBA bubble can work. NBA is on the right side of the number games and it's just manageable. NFL and MLB just aren't.

They can't just buy out 10 hotels for 6 months and find a way to create a large enough kitchen to feed every single one. Then, you have 330 lb men that gotta eat 2,000+ calories a day or they start losing weight. Disney =/= the same as a bunch of hotels

A NFL bubble... even smaller ones. Is sigfinicantly harder than what the NBA is doing. I have extreme doubts is even worth trying.

I get what you're saying it is an almost impossible task but will they at least try. Most teams have had the experience of having an out of town training camp, which each team pay's for and sets up logistics. Take this basic model, reduce staff, and combine resources on a divisional or conference basis.

Indoor stadiums have bad ventilation. The Tampa Coach even discusses it

dy. He said that “being outside” at Tampa Bay’s stadium and other venues will help reduce the threat of transmission, but the Bucs also have several road games at domed stadiums.

“Being in an indoor stadium, that worries me a bit more,” he said. “And I’m really concerned about the away hotels and away locker rooms. That’s a big point of emphasis. The ventilation in those locker rooms is terrible, with guys getting out of the showers and getting treatment

See if there's a bubble I don't think it matters where the bubble is. They aren't going to be going to bars or anything. The NBA is in a "red zone."

With your schedule you have to assume there's no high school or college football...which they won't do until they're canceled.

It would take locusts falling from the sky to cancel high school football in Texas. Even then I’m not sure

Yes I am making that assumption

The Orlando bubble seems separate enough, perhaps even unique, not sure another city could replicate it (too much integration in the cities)
