TIL: Today I Learned... (4 Viewers)

Wait, you've never heard that expression before?

What's the expression?

Oldest known work from the Bible is farming, besides creating the heavens and earth.

2Later she gave birth to Cain’s brother Abel.

Genesis 4:2-5

"Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, while Cain was a tiller of the soil. 3So in the course of time, Cain brought some of the fruit of the soil as an offering to the LORD, 4while Abel brought the best portions of the firstborn of his flock.

And the LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5but He had no regard for Cain and his offering. So Cain became very angry, and his countenance fell".

Today I learned that making a cocktail of Maker's Mark and Coke Zero Cherry tastes exactly like Robitussin cough medicine. I didn't know the Coke Zero was cherry, thought it was just regular. Blech.

The Bible is pretty clear about avoiding prostitution, that's something I'm not interested in at all. Still think farming is an older line of work, but everyone has the right to believe what they want.

Deuteronomy 23:17-18
“None of the daughters of Israel shall be a cult prostitute, and none of the sons of Israel shall be a cult prostitute. You shall not bring the fee of a prostitute or the wages of a dog into the house of the Lord your God in payment for any vow, for both of these are an abomination to the Lord your God.

I drink Maker's all the time. Never need anything more that a couple cubes of ice or a splash of water depending on my mood.

If you're going to mix, might as well buy the cheap stuff IMHO. Back when I did that I liked the powerful oak flavor of Early times with Coke. It could hold it's own and brought something to the mix. Otherwise I found the soda just washed out the Bourbon flavor. I'll go with a vodka if I want to not taste the alcohol.

That's cool. I like to mix it with a cola or make a sour. In general, however someone wants to drink the alcohol they purchase is good with me.
