Is the Saints Super Bowl window closed? (1 Viewer)

It’s a moot point at this point of the season.
This thread was posted at the time of the Vikings Week 1 loss in 2017 and again after the Week 1 loss vs Tampa and again after the Week 2 loss at the Rams.

Yes. And I expect the Saints to win Sunday night. But the reason is that to be a serious contender, an NFL team absolutely needs a dominant defense or a top 10 quarterback playing his best. Our defense is talented, but underachieves and is hardly dominant. And Drew today is no longer a top 10 or even 15 quarterback and looks like a quarterback who should have retired after last season. We will see Drew, if he stays healthy, play some good games. But he can no longer play consistently at a reasonably high level.

The window isn’t closed, but it’s just barely cracked. Even if we don’t make it, I can’t fault much of what we’ve done the past 4 years. We’ve gone all out, and it was worth a shot to stay the course. I hate that we aren’t looking so great, but we seem to be in a fairly weak division yet again and we could still end up with a shot. If nothing else, I’m just going to try to enjoy the season with no expectations.

I think the window is very much open. The NFC appears to the weak compared to the AFC.

TOP NFC TEAMS--

Seattle: Lack of depth and a putrid defense.

Rams: Hard to get a read on them. Need more games.

Tampa: Talented but lack consistency.

NFC East is a mess.

Green Bay: We will see how truly good they are.

49ers: Injuries are going to bring them down this year.
