So...what are we watching for in this race? And with some of the drivers switching teams, does that affect how they'll drive in today's race? Thoughts?

I expect those below the cut line to be very impatient. KB18 comes to mind.

Yep it’s all about the cut line. Stage points are potentially very important - and on road courses, lots of cars tend to stay on the lead lap. That means a spin or penalty can put a driver at the back and lose a lot of points in an instant. But also they can get them back quickly too by passing those cars in the back. So timing will be everything.

Definitely keep an eye on the 18, 22, and 88.

I'm really not enjoying this race. Nor yesterday's. I know I'm in the minority, but I am just not feeling it. I'm anxious watching it

Chase has this road course thing nailed pretty good, as the in-car cam makes it look like he is driving a living room video game. 18 gave it a good shot but just wore that car out.

Chase is the man. With new road courses on the schedule next year, you have to look at the 9 as the favorite to win the championship.

These next three races (Kansas, Texas, Martinsville) are going to be intense, there's no room for error. On points, I think that Harvick and Hamlin have the advantage and should advance barring some kind of mechanical DNF or bad luck wreck. BUT any of these guys in the 8 could win one of these races and punch their ticket . . . and wins will be what sets the table for the last cutoff race at Martinsville.

I think Brad, sitting third, is really, really good at Martinsville - he could go into that race and be favored to win it even if he was sitting below the cut line. But any win by someone outside of the top 4 now will just enhance the pressure on those guys at the top. Truex, Kurt, and Chase all run really well at Kansas.

My picks:
Kansas - Chase
Texas - Harvick
Martinsville - Brad

Final 4: Harvick, Brad, Chase, Denny (on points)

Martinsville, you can not rule out the 48 for the win.

Perhaps but that wouldn’t be relevant to the playoffs (except that it would mean that no playoff driver gets an automatic finals berth from that race and points will determine)

It just seems that when we get to this point, the winners are almost always playoff drivers.

Big wreck on restart with 28 to go. 21 car slid a long way on it's side then roof. Once they got it upright the driver climb out and gave 2 thumbs up to signal he was O.K.

Yeah, haven't seen too many cars flip over this season. Chase is just killing it this season. It's like there's the 98 car and then there's everyone else.
