What happened with MT??? (1 Viewer)

Frustrated. He shouldn't be out there throwing punches esp at his teammates but a guy like MT doesn't like the fact he isn't playing and may not still be playing up to his standards.

Same thing happened w/ AK, just didn't hit anybody but last year he wasn't playing up to his standards and he moped around about it the whole time.
You should listen to AK own words from the podcast instead of making assumptions out of your arse.

AK was legitimate hurt and in pain after every play.

He gets paid top dollar and that being said, he is a leader. He needs to take the high road.

Agree 100% ^.

As you said, CGM is a team leader. He needs to hold his anger together in practice. That is not a good example. I hope this is just one isolated incident and not representative of any issues in the Saints locker room.

Glad the team had the last word. Bad enough MT got hurt on a fluke play but I can only imagine if he would have reinjured himself or his own teammate in a senseless practice scrap.

from what I remember reading from time to time, Thomas takes practice very seriously. Tends to play full out, and I've heard Coach mentions, it's hard for him to "dial it down" for practice at times, even walk throughs. Hoping it was all just a little of that, and nothing more.

I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often on teams (because men). Or maybe it does and we're not privy to it.

Aaron Rodgers and Jameis Winston should've already been punched a couple times, at least.

My guess is that Thomas was pushing hard to play this week even though he was not 100%.... The Saints likely wanted him to rest him until after the bye, but probably were not going to be able to keep him of the field if he wanted to play.... This situation gave them an excuse/reason to hold him back until after the bye... whether warranted or not... It gives them a reason.

Thomas was disrespectful to some of the Saints coaches when they went to break up the fight, which is why he got suspended. It has nothing to do with a stealth reason for sitting him so his ankle can get better. The good thing is that Payton didn't go soft on him b/c he's one of the star players. The same rules apply to everybody. The bad thing is that Thomas threw a sucker punch at his teammate; he needs to behave better.

I was prepared for him to be out till after the bye, we just took a different route to get there. Coming back too soon was a risk. I’m fine with it.

1 more week developing timing with Sanders and TQS might be a good thing.

Ceedy is the team ‘goon’, he gets under the other teams skin. Might need to dial it back against your own team.
No way. Bring that fire EVERY time u step on the field. If we had more dudes like him on our team, we prolly wouldn't be 2-2.

Michael Thomas has shown us who he is. He is a very competitive player who holds himself in the highest esteem. That's great when you need a play in a critical moment, but it can be disruptive to team chemistry when he puts his emotions ahead of the team. He ran Drew under the bus this summer and he'll turn his anger on any person as long as he's upset. He doesn't grasp the importance of "team" he only understand the importance of personal excellence. That's why he'll eventually be traded, because teams only deal with that type of attitude while the juice is worth the squeeze. As soon as that production drops off, the attitude will outweigh the benefit. Is a virtual certainty that he'll be moved before fans are ready.

Do we have dunce of the day awards? LOL. Not a mean spirited award but really, dude? Super strecth.

I heard exactly what happened from someone that was there and what MT did was a HUGE cowardly move. Allot of other Saints players are P'Oed as well. Not a good look at all

If we had one you just earned it. You don't think I'm right? I said the same thing about Brandon Cooks. It doesn't take a fortune teller to read the writing on the wall. You turn on your teammates in a team sport, you'll find yourself in a new team.

He did not run Drew Brees under the bus. He expressed his concern with Drew Brees not showing compassion for BLM. Drew Brees responded positively eventually and admitted that he was ignorant to the importance of protesting. And even made a video with other players. Brees is a better person because of it.
