This woman doesn’t care about New Orleans. Once this is over she will follow in the steps of Morial and move out of town Nagin. Any word on if Mitch has moved yet? At least Sid Barthelemt has stuck around town.
To be fair, Nagin was forced to move out of town. To report to prison.

Though its ok for 2 dead bodies to sit in a destroyed construction site for months.. she moves like a sloth on issues.
She had dug her heels in with her palms up. She is all about getting more money to cover her errors, the rest of the city's businesses be damned.

If the decision is being made for health concerns of the fans, players, staff etc; after conferring with public health officials, I have no problem with it. I don't really see how Tiger Stadium can be a superior environment to the Dome, other than it being roofless, but who knows.

If the decision is being made based on economic issues and the city budget, I also get it. But, in that case, we need to look at the bigger picture, outside of a few football games.

Also sensing this thread will be moved "elsewhere."

The Saints having to go to a college stadium is unfair. Don't know anything about this mayor except for postings on this board. She should have been honest from beginning and said no fans allowed for whole season. Then the Saints wouldn't have had to waste money on CDC infrastructure guideline materials at the Superdome.

Two if the mayor had been honest N.O would have conducted practices on grass in order to get used to Tiger Stadium surface.

Three it is unfair to LSU to have to prepare on such short notice for a tenant. If there was a chance to plan this ahead well in advance both parties could of worked with each other. Now everything is set in stone.
To be completely fair, neither the Saints nor LSU “have to” do anything here, it’s what they are choosing to do

I understand her trepidation and will not criticize any leader for using an abundance of caution in these uncharted waters.

That said, what do 20,000 spread out fans in Baton Rouge really do for us? It isn’t like the financial impact would be anything more than a pint glass out of an ocean of this year’s revenue losses . I’d rather keep our players in familiar surroundings and keep the offense indoors as much as possible. Stay in the Superdome.

And if those fans led to a covid outbreak and games were subsequently cancelled then most would say how stupid she was for allowing it. Safety vs Entertainment. There really isn't a right decision to make. Either way there could be consequences that aren't favorable. Ultimately, the entire country watched the NBA have a successful Covid free Playoffs without fans. No reason why the NFL can't function the same way.

What's the science behind not allowing 20k fans (quarter capacity), socially distanced, all wearing masks? Restaurants and stores have been operating like this (now at much greater capacity) for months. It's been proven that wearing a mask makes the risk of spreading Covid in a freaking airplane virtually non-existent so why is it a risk in a venue as massive as the Superdome? Makes no sense but I expect nothing less.

That's the real question that no one has asked the City and the City has not given a specific reasoning for their decision. Is there something wrong with the Dome's AC system? Has SMG given the City the go-ahead or are they saying stand-by? Where is the journalism here?

Tiger Stadium has a grass field. It didn't work well in 2005 when the Saints played their and it wouldn't now
