Not crazy about it but it may be all a mute point the way the Covid cases now seem to be increasing not only nationwide but in the pro football community. Too bad people won’t listen and wear their masks.

The current spike in cases crosses National Borders also. Western and Eastern Europe is spiking almost straight up, even freaking CANADA is going up pretty fast now, from a lower base level for sure. The NFL still has a chance to get a full season in, but a few bad weeks and the schedule will be pure chaos. I am fine with no fans this year, hopefully most of us survive. The businesses that have been impacted have mostly been destroyed. That is very sad and I hope more can be done for them. No fans probably saved me close to $1,000 not having to watch the Saints lose to Green Bay. That is about what going to that game would have cost me in a normal year. That is a pretty good bit of economic impact that is gone. Multiply that time 60,000+ fans and eight home games and the money is huge for the city.
lol. Thanks, I don't live in NOLA, though!!

But have you paid your Income Tax?

......

Death Valley Saints has a nice ring to it! Not really a big deal in these crazy times! Hope we do it for the fans!

Her argument that the NFL is not allowing any teams that play in a dome or in an enclosed stadium to have fans is wrong and inaccurate. Atlanta and Dallas have had fans at their home games. I don't get it.

Pretty sure both have retractable roofs, FWIW.

Definitely looking more like a squabble between the Mayor and the team; having little to do with health concerns. Gave up popcorn a while back, but, at this point I'll grab a turkey stick and await the outcome.

How is JBE setting on the sidelines letting this happen?

Using the team account to go at the mayor. Lol.

As far as my opinion on the matter as a licensed medical expert. This power struggle is more political than based on any scientific analysis presented from any covid sports medical journal that I've read. Acting within the states and CDC parameters and trying to politicized your way out of it by using buzz words like fixed roof arena when no NFL retractable roof has been opened all season shows the gross bitterness of this whole debacle.

It makes matter worse that these words come her own mouth when most mayors direct all decisions and remarks to their top county health physician and team of Infectious Diseases Specialist to act in such way within guidline parameters.

I've witnessed hundreds die from complications with covid, spents months couping with depression, and while I may disagree some choiced philosophy on both sides. Going to a football game is no more dangerous to going out to dinner. Just because 20,000 people are in the stadium. You may only logistically be only in direct contact with a hundred at best under proper precautions and social distancing. The viral coefficient does raise exponentially at around 55-60% capacity where it's precede as an immediate health danger if I'm correct. Full capacity is simply not double under any circumstances till a vaccine is viable.

This decision to withhold fans should be made by a professional team of medical physicians. Not a joke of a politican that'll be luckily to mop the floors of city hall after her term is finished.

Granted... It's not about public safety. It's about money.

thank you. I was coming to post the same message, but you’ve said it perfectly. I would just like to know her reasoning for allowing it in BR vs. the Superdome. I know she had no say in BR but her reasoning is the most important. I would like to hear it so I can then pick it apart with reason and science. The fact that she just makes blanket PERSONEL statements has me thinking that she has no clue what she’s talking about and is making emotional decisions for the people of NOLA.
