The Emerging Talent of Marquez Callaway (1 Viewer)

Excellent Article. Glad I'm not only one who thought he resembles Colston. Though he appears to be a tad faster, which will eventually make him a deadly receiver with the ball in his hands.
What makes him really good already is what he does without the ball in his hands. Looks like a complete all around player who will only get better with more reps and even greater confidence gained.

At the very least... Callaway looked like a competent fill-in should Harris need to miss any additional time/games. He was decisive, and displayed solid vision on returns.

He also looked to be a serviceable WR in deep sets... and he appears to have earned Brees’ trust more so than Carr, LJH, or Hogan ever did with their chances...

He reminds me more of Keith “Kirky” Kirkwood more than Colston... if Kirky could’ve returned kicks.

This is what I noticed. In ONE game Brees actually looked his way on a few throws. I can't say that for the others you mentioned.

"want to" is a paytonism meaning internal motivation in reference to an individual player

That could have something to do with CGM being out too though.
It will be interesting to see if Brees largely ignores his other options once Michael Thomas returns... and if not, if Thomas starts chirping because he’s not getting all of the looks

I know I'm not the only one who thinks Payton speaks in a very disjointed manner.

I mean here's a classic case on his thoughts about Callaway:

Coach responded, "There's been glimpses you know, he's got speed. He had a few snaps today, where you see it in special teams. He certainly has the one, two. He's learning. He's obviously learning at a very quick pace."
