NFL Films: The "So Close" Saints (1 Viewer)

NFL Films is great. It’s one of the few things I still love about the league.

The league itself is such a joke and I can’t wait till Goodell is gone. I gotta say, it’s atypical NFL to turn one of their biggest blunders into content/storyline/profit. That’s one of the many things that will burn about the no call, nevermind that all the referees involved got away with it with little to no repercussion, is that the NFL was always going to of course use it as a storyline to benefit them over time. The “So Close” Saints. Maybe we’ll get rewarded for our sorrows one day.

As much as it is maddening to watch I appreciate the post. The Saints should watch this everyday to keep the motivation at its apex.

2018 was our year to win one more with Brees and it was unjustly taken away. I don't think the team and fan base recovered yet. Things just haven't been the same. I still think we should have made power moves in 2019 to field a better roster and to somehow find a way to go on a holy crusade for vengeance.

Sean Payton should have used the no call as motivation to kick the living crap out of other teams, so the refs couldn't decide the game. There should have been no AC, no hot water, and gas station sushi for the refs locker room.

But here we are 2 seasons later, the rule change is gone, and the refs are taking their revenge against the Saints by calling every PI they possible can while ignoring what happens to Saints receivers. Play angry.

Also, 3 seasons after the Minneapolis Miracle the D still can't stop big plays.

Yeah but you never put the game in the refs hands. Even tho it was a blatant no call 🤦🏾‍♂️. Drew had a chance in overtime and threw the pick. I felt like the air was let out the team and building at that time. You are so right bout the D. We will see

As frustrating as it is - and it is - we still had time to dig deep and win it. It defeated our will to win.
