I had this debate with someone a few years ago.

Growing up, Cheez Whiz was packaged in a glass jar. I'm fairly certain it was essentially Velveeta. The aerosolized version I always knew as Easy Cheese. It seems that it varied by region as the person I had the discussion with is from Canada.

The first is a cheez whiz branded dip. The second is the original "cheese whiz" (although quite possibly a knockoff of Easy Cheese, IDK).

The cheese whiz I'm used to is the melted cheese like that bottle that they use for cheesesteaks in Philly. Not the aerosol can. I do like the canned one on crackers, but the melted cheese I like for nachos.
