If early big lead Sunday.. (1 Viewer)

The answer is 'Yes' & 'No'.

If Drew is really having some lingering issues with his shoulder where some limited snaps would help him recover, then 'Yes', Winston should see some playing time.

But if Drew is doing well health-wise and he is as effective as he was in the Bucs game, then 'No', Drew needs to continue working on the rapport he is having with all his new offensive weapons. Because we never know how long everyone will remain healthy, the experience working with Brees now could be very important down the stretch if any of these guys are called on to take a bigger role in the offense.

Unless there's a good reason to change things, don't fix what ain't broken.

A good reason to change things would be to not expose our HOF starting QB to injury.

While I appreciate the optimism, I think this is going to be a very close game. Shanahan is not going to abandon the run like Arians and Mullens will likely be able to get some play action going. Also look for lots of jet sweeps, misdirection and draws to take advantage of our aggressive d-line flying in on pass rush.

Also, I’d be willing to bet we’ll see a trick play or two peppered in.

Shanahan will have the Niners ready regardless of the injuries. I hope our guys haven’t eaten the cheese and are ready too.

If we're up at least 28 in the second half again this week, sure. Not likely, since this is the modern-day NFL where the refs control the outcome. The refs controlled the outcome against the Bucs by NOT throwing incessant penalties and letting players play. Anyone remember Gronk immediately looking around for a flag on their first series? It was awesome to see this novel concept....letting players play! ;)

I didn't see a really "bad call" until they called Davenport for roughing the passer in the fourth quarter, when it was time to try to help the Bucs finally get on the board. He barely touched Brady on the play, but I've been typing that sentence for a lot of years now!

If that scenario would present itself that we are up 30 points I would like to see Winston and Taysom split time, but not for the whole 2nd half. Let them do it in the 4th qtr.

You must have missed Gronkowski creating a defensive pass interference penalty by running into the defensive back.

Guys, we’ve got to quit thinking like this. Shanahan knows how to game plan against this Saints D and offense has thrown a clunker or two this year. This game like every game the rest of the year will be challenging.
I predicted 55-27 in another thread. Now tell me why I have to stop thinking like this?

Because it never fails, whenever someone (who obviously doesn't pay attention to the NFL much) says stuff like this it tends to backfire.

I hope we win by a lot, but I expect a close game...I do hope it is not a "trap" game....

Geez, really?

I'll settle for a close win. Don't be surprised if the game is a whole lot closer than you think....
I think we will win handily in the end but people now looking to go up 31-0 at the half of every game moving forward, lol.

Calm down folks.

SF is a well coached team, so don't sleep on them. A couple of bad turnovers and we could be in for a real dogfight.

Why do people think it's a good idea to create these types of threads? Hardly any of them ever age well.

Drew is going to want to put as much space between him and Brady on that TD record.
We'll see.

It was pretty telling that they let Taysom have an entire series until they got to goal line, then put Drew in for a TD pass.
I wonder if that was more SP trying to give upcoming defenses more to think about when he’s playing in heir games coming up.
