I’ll be thrilled. I don’t believe in him being the heir apparent, but I’d love to be wrong.

I am with you. Truly hoping he emerges as a Drew replacement and quality starting QB, but I just don't see it at this point due to the lack of exposure he has had and the questions whether he can smoothly go thru progressions and not take off running immediately! I do however trust Coach Payton who sees these guys every day.

Those analysts takes are what I am referring to, and since they are (sadly)thought influencers a lot of people are talking about how this is a dumb idea, and how Winston should be the starter, and how Hill won’t help the Saints win. It’s odd.

My friend text me this morning while I was at work saying "Taysom with the start, nice" and he's a Chiefs fan.

The hot take I've been riding has been that Taysom will be the 2021 QB (I did not predict this weekend though). He's at least plan A. That's mainly just following the money. My expectations of how good he will actually be was non-existent. I had never seen him take one drive as a starter. I don't take stock translating his joker snaps to QB.

If he plays good I will be very happy. I'll at least have some optimism if my take comes true and it's not just a matter of fact statement.

Who honestly gets sad/mad when a Saints player plays well? What a sad existence. I'd much rather be proven wrong when I am critical of a Saints player/coach than right.

Only those who care more about being right than Ws. Yeah, I like to give my opinion as much as the next guy and, sure, I like it when I guess right. But if anyone is upset because "their" guy got outshone by the "other" guy, they should be tarred and feathered.

Maybe my perception is off but there seems to be a larger contingent of Saints fans who were scared and skeptical of Jameis being the starter with opinions being given that he would fail. It is kind of evidenced with how many threads there are congratulating Taysom on being the starter and the amount of "sigh of relief" posts that it is him.

Personally, they are both Saints so I need both of them to excel when their number is called, in any form or fashion.

I definitely thought Jameis would be the starter. If Taysom performs well, then I am glad. Perhaps Sean had a change of heart after watching film of the little playtime Winston had.
