Or so I’m being continually told by the media following our win yesterday.

I think it’s nonsense. They are the exact same team. Suspect defensively with an offense that can put up points if you let Brady get comfortable. They barely beat a 7-9 team Saturday to advance. That we throttled them was not because they were a bad team back then and have changed, it’s because we were a much better team and still are.

Regardless, get ready for an onslaught of “beating a team three times is tough” commentary when it’s simply not true. In the 30 times it’s happened, the 2-0 team is 20-10.

Doesn’t mean we win, but it does mean the media narratives are lazy.

A poster on another thread pointed out some things they’re doing differently (@Jellybean). More Max protect (let your elite WRs have time to create space), more two TE sets.

I’ll be curious to hear from some of the smart football people on here how we counteract that. More zone?

Brady will have better protection this time around vs. game two. I don't think we'll have near the pressure that we had game 2. Brady has also has had more time to gel with his unit, so he can get the ball out much quicker. In the end- what I think people are saying is that TB will be fielding a healthy, complete unit this weekend. I think that this comes down to trench dominance and coaching.

Except for the fact that they just lost a starting guard this weekend.

We'll see. They looked very out of sync for most of the first half vs Washington.

However, so did our offense against Chicago, so if we can fix that, one has to assume they can as well.

I agree they are basically the same team, but they have realigned their protection to try to compensate for their underperforming O-line, so we will have to find ways to counter that.

I keep hearing about he bucs offense is better. Is the bucs defense any better?
Did they need time to gel?
Because the Saints moved the ball at will against them. They had no answers, and remember that the Saints offense rarely looks bad 2 weeks in a row.

The Bucs were supposed to remove us from the NFC South throne in game 1. They did not.

Then, they rounded the corner, found their identity and were the elite of the NFC. Then we beat them by 5 TDs.

Now, they beat what has to be the worst team in the history of the NFL playoffs - by 1 possession - and they are now the elite of the NFC again.

Look, theres no doubt we havent played a complete playoff game in years. Its football, any given Sunday though. Im not discounting that they can beat us, especially if the offense comes out flat again. But for a team weve beat twice by a total of 46 points, I fail to see how the narrative is that the Bucs have found themselves (again, for the 3rd or 4th time this season) and are primed to get Brady #7.

I'm not concerned about their offense. They will be able to score some points against us. The question is how they'll attempt to defend the Saints the 3rd time around. Do they change up their coverages to try to slow the offense down or will they die on the hill trying to defend the Saints the same way they've been doing the last 2 games?

They are definitely playing better. Take for instance, the slow start by the Saints in the Bears game because of Brees, Kamara, and Thomas not having much time playing together this year. It took the Bucs and Brady even longer to gel because they NEVER played together before. Don't you think it's possible for the same rules applied to the Saints apply to the Bucs? Trust me, this will be a MUCH closer game this time.
