Saints must figure out a way to draft Mac Jones (1 Viewer)

Well yes, of course I'm going to run victory laps around clown posters who decided to be so vocal and yet so wrong about Jeudy being better than Claypool to the point that they made it their goal in life to derail every single post I made about the guy.

If that wasn't enough, stalk me around the forum because I made them look like a complete arse for taking such a foolish bet in the first place.

And for What It's worth I wanted Cominsky (and still want) at DT, not DE, just Like I wanted McDowell at DE, not DT.

I don't back down from projections simply because the players I like never got a chance to play at positions I liked them at.

When did I ever say that I liked Dimick in rd 3? I remember liking the guy but I don't remember that early, but yes, he definitely looked like a solid mid-rounder.
Bro did you not see your own post about MT? Not to mention the massive whiff on Malik McDowell. Show a little modesty.

QB Zach Wilson from BYU needs to be looked at by the Saints scouting department.

Lastly, clown posters will say just about anything to discredit me after losing a bet that completely blew up in their face.

If I was so enamored only with wrs then why am I clamoring so much for a QB like Jones and MLB like Zaven Collins in round 1 this year?

Make it make sense.

Your not helping yourself when you insult others that disagree with you.

Yes and like I said, no one had any credible evidence that Thomas could beat NFL corners.

You're trying to humiliate me for calling Thomas out for not looking great at OSU is laughable.

Talk about blowing smoke.

I'll show modesty when you show me Thomas destroying NFL talent in college.

And McDowell's stupidity ended his career, not a lack of talent.

I still stand by that the guy had 100 sack talent. Unfortunately he had a pea-brain.

Well, when I asked politely several times to not be harrassed by clown poster in question and be left alone to civilly discuss Chase Claypool last year, it was too much to ask.

@harschman witnessed the entire thing.

Though I probably went too far with the "talent-blind" bit a few pages ago, though I really didn't intend for it to come off as harsh as it probably did.

Which is why NFL front offices take into account football smarts and off the field issues when evaluating talent. Often things that some random fan has little to no information about.

Yeah, I seriously doubt that's why he fell to round two, and if you notice he didn't fall very far.

It was more likely his lack of production at DT instead of his potential at DE.

It’s a 5 year bet and the difference is 10 catches, 33 yards & a bigger 8 TDs. A decent lead, but not astronomical and I like Jeudy’s chances of a leap when the Broncos get a functional QB.

That is not why I clown your posts. I am fine losing a friendly and competitive, fun bet. The attacking you do when someone doesn’t share your sentiment loses you so much favor, not just with me. Anyone on this board that enjoys the draft process will grow tired of your condescending nature and lack of humility.

Love him but he'd require too much draft capital. Unless of course he (or any of these guys) is considered a slam-dunk QB of the future prospect, in which case they'll spend that capital. Will be interesting.. I tend to think Mac is a great fit for us (ducks), but Wilson is #2 on my list after TL.

Who ever you want in Rd 1, the Saints won't get because some team will trade up in front of us and pick'em.

I don't consider myself anything else than a fan watching the game, so this is just an opinion.

I think there are things that we know and that we don't know about Mac Jones.

What we know:

- Jones have the smarts, he is really good reading the field, and has the patience to wait until the ideal route gets open.

- He is very accurate, both in short and deep routes.

- He already is moving safeties with his eyes.

- He is not a scrambler, but has enough mobility to scape.

- He is patient, spent time learning on the bench during Tua's time.

- Obviously, he is coachable and we saw some progress in his game during the year.

Here are things we don't know:

- We don't know how Jones will perform with constant pressure, specially coming from the middle. To be honest, he had all the time in the world to make those throws.

- Najee and the receivers are a ridiculous unit. We don't know how he will perform with a subpar unit surrounding him (and that is not his fault).

- We don't know much about his leadership skills. In Alabama, that is always Saban's job.

I really like him. I will be happy if we take him. But I cannot say if he is the best candidate to replace Drew, or the cost it will take to draft him.

My lack of humility?

Excuse me?

I don't remember coming to your Chase Claypool thread repeatedley bashing every post as "goofy" like a 5 year old.

We are gonna be picking at the bottom of the 1st. That needs to be the first note when discussing this stuff.

You aren’t getting “enter top 10 pick here” in the draft. Any QB we take will have flaws. It’s simply a matter of what qualities they do have and how those can be groomed.

To me, Jones’ strengths are exactly the kinds of the things you’d love to see Payton utilize and develop. They fit the offense and he wouldn’t cost us a bunch in draft capital.

The same scouting team who whiffed on Allen Robinson and Davante Adams the year before making the Thomas pick even necessary in the first place? Lol.

Don't forget they traded up for Cooks when I was all for just staying at #27 and double-dipping at wr in 2014.

Oh and dont forget the whiffs on Claypool and Metcalf. :haha-rire-395:
So you honestly think you are better than NFL scouts? You are acting like a gambler who comes home bragging about winning $100 on the slots while ignoring the $500 you lost earlier.

A lot may change once the "experts" pick apart his game at the combines and workouts (if allowed). I have read some that question his arm strength. He appears to have enough arm strength to get the job done. There is usually a lot of skepticism around Alabama QBs as they have a lot of advantages many other QBs do not have in the way of protection and weapons as well as typically large leads in games with less pressure.
