This is a matchup that hasn’t been talked about because the week has been nothing but Brees Vs Brady, but Payton Vs Arians is the key to this.
Payton is vastly superior to Arians. Don’t get me wrong, I think Arians is a good coach, but I think he’s overvalued.

It's been mentioned but only in passing. I'm hoping Payton's in Arians' head like he used to be in Mike Smith's head as HC in Atlanta. Everything the Bucs have done since our second game -- and they had to kiss the division goodbye and admit they were playing for wildcard -- has been focused on trying to find a way to beat us.

And I think it may have driven Bruce mad. Quite literally EVERY week we've heard, Oh, they've finally made the right adjustments, oh, they've finally gelled, oh, they've finally gotten the right groupings. Well, which is it? Were you good then -- which is what we were told -- or are you good now, which is what you are desperately trying to believe? Does a good team need to constantly change its identity?

I mean, we'll see but Arians is more of a Morgus mad scientist and makes Sean Payton look like an Einstein type of "mad" scientist.

The fact that Arains wants the refs to have a tight grip on the game shows how much the Saints are in his head.

6-1 vs. Arians as head coaches, only loss was 2015 in Week 1

7-1 including when Arians was OC for the Steelers in 2010
The one game we lost was when we didn’t/couldn’t defend the deep ball. That’s gonna be the key — not giving up long balls and/or pass interference penalties. In both games this season they had receivers running free deep, but the pass rush got to Brady before he could get get the ball to them. Guys have got to hold their coverage and the pass rush has to bring it.

I just hope that the Saints can come out fast and not let off the gas. This adjustments in the second half may not be sufficient if we get behind by two scores or more. We also need Lutz to get his mojo back as this likely will come down to a FG, made or missed!

Arians reminds me of the old coach for the Rams...Mike Martz for some reason.

Eh, the Cardinals had only 4 passing plays over 20 yards in that 2015 game, but 2 of them were on 2-yard passes and and the rest was YAC.

But that 2015 defense had far more problems than just deep coverage. :hihi:
