I have seen all the differing opinions of what to do at QB if Drew does indeed ride off into the sunset . One that I have not seen is Matt Stafford . He wants out of Detroit and with Dan Campbell going to the lions to be the Head coach , could we have slight edge in trading for him if we wanted too ? Dan Cambell will need some players he is familiar with to rebuild that team , we need to make some tough decisions player wise because we cant afford all of them . Could we package some players and maybe pick swaps that would help our cap situation ? I know Matt's contract is high but we could always restructure it accordingly . Both teams could find a mutually beneficial trade that give Cambell a couple veterans he is familiar with maybe a pick to go with them . We get a veteran QB that's tough as nails and can lead this team , Stafford under Sean Payton has a chance to change his legacy and prove how good he really is . 32 years old and in this offense would surely have 4 to 5 years atleast . Of course he would have to flip his number upside down to 6 or wear 19 lol but just wanted to get a take on this ? Just trying to occupy my mind after last night

Can he throw deep?

At this point I'll consider any option just as long as they can throw bombs. They don't even have to be completions, just long beautiful bombs. At least make the defense think a long pass is a possibility.

He's staying in Detroit, Dan Campbell will be able to win immediately with Stafford at QB, Swift at RB Galloday at WR and Hokenson at TE.

He could win immediately if Stafford will stay . I have seen reports he and his wife are both un happy in Detroit and who can blame then ? He has been beaten up behind bad OLs and stupid coaching decisions ( firing Jim Caldwell ) hiring ( Matt Patricia ) driving star players into early retirement is what Detroit is known for ask Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson .

I dunno. We saw what a QB change can do in Tampa.

All on Winston. If Winston wants to stay, Saints will keep him. Saints believe in Winston and wants to keep him.

Not sure about the love fest for Stafford on this board, he’s an average QB and always has been. People seem too think that any QB who comes in will turn into an elite one just because we have SP as our coach. They won’t. He’s always been average and always will. Add to the fact he’s always injured and overpaid.

If WINsTon ends up as the Saints starting QB (post Brees... which is apparently now)...
Then my overall health is about to improve... because I won’t be watching Saints games until he washes out. My stress and anxiety levels will go down significantly.

I'm a Michigan native so I agree, the Lions are the place HOF Caliber players go to live in football purgatory but Stafford is a LION and he's still under contract and he has the respect of the fans and the city, he's a gritty player who just needs his organization to get their foot out their a%%, this team (Lions) can get back on track fast because Patricia handicapped that team and its talent with his "patriot way"...Dan Campbell is going to play to his players strengths that could/will pay immediate dividends....I could see the Lions 9-7 at worse next year in Campbells first season under the helm.

At 6:35 he throws one from the 15 yard line to the 25 yard line on the other side so.....60 yards with accuracy.

This is an interesting idea because the Saints can play this a few ways. They can operate under the assumption that the talent level is sufficient to make another run with a viable QB. They can go for a slight rebuild or they can blow it up and start over.

Yeah I know he can sling it. I was making a play on the "Can he play Safety" joke.
