I'm ready to rebuild. Mac Jones or bust (1 Viewer)

There is no logistical casuality in two players out of 50+ years of draft that means that Jones will be available there and they aren't comfortable with wasting a high salary team on Hill. I would say the best outlook is that they sign Winston and somehow Jones fall and draft. Jones is a fine late 1st prospect, but Saints will draft a higher skill player on their board over him.

Brees is done btw. The salary move was to help us get Winston.

If they like a QB chances are they will likely move up to get him after the Mahomes debacle even assuming the cap move really does indicate that Brees will call it quits.

When have we never gotten a guy because of the cap?

Cap is going up and we're saving 24 million from Drew. What cap situation are you worried about??

Who are they really going to trade for at this point who is better than Drew and will fit in those cap parameters?

Let's face it guys we won't win until we start getting younger in most of these vet positions. We can't afford to keep everyone but at least lets just break down the right way and put it all back together. SAINTS 4 LIFE!!! Winston will find another home else where and so will Taysom.
Saints are not that old. Armistead is the oldest OL, everyone else 5 or under. TEs, other then Cook are young. Sanders is the only older WR. L Murray only older running back but is low mileage. DL, only Cam Jordan is older. Davis is only older LB but playing great for at least 2 more years. Secondary is young. This is not an old team that requires rebuilding.
Bring in a talented every down LB via draft, a young OT, young CB and S.

Physical gifts (accuracy) vs weaknesses compared to Brees (arm strength)/youth.

Pretty obvious.
He is throwing to the best receiver in college football, has one of the best backs in college and one of the best defenses. He will not have that in the NFL.

You watch the kickoff game will be Winston vs Brady. And watch our offense explode for a 40 burger. We whooped this team twice and watching this tonight makes me sick to my stomach. Knowing deep down that we were the best team and we were not even close to healthy.
Kind of ironic that the Saints beat them twice in the regular season in 2003 too the last time they won the superbowl.

You catch my drift

If he comes to the Saints:

--best receiver in nfl
--best running back in nfl
--#8 oline in sacks allowed
--3rd ranked scoring defense

What am I missing?

Watson is the only guy that could be better and I'm sure if we want him bad enough we'll make it happen. I do know Mac Jones is not the savior that people think he will be.

Don't know why you're worried about the cap. Loomis knows what he is doing.
