My wife and I got our first dose of Moderna yesterday. So far, neither of us has had any sort of side effect. Our vaccination location was extremely well organized. The MS National Guard was doing all the vaccinating and they had their act completely together.

Don't think a similar thought has not crossed my mind.
Did they give me a placebo? Or a damaged dose?

I guess time will tell the tale.
Placebos are only given in clinical trials. The vaccines now are the real deal

I think what he meant was that many of those workers are more likely to get their vaccine 'news' from Facebook or wherever compared to a doctor. "Healthcare worker refuses vaccine" might scare off the public but there is a difference between "Epidemiologist refuses vaccine" vs "Orderly refuses vaccine"

Welcome to modern journalism

Second night after 2nd dose was real. Chills kicked in out of nowhere and I ran a slight fever. Girlfriend got her 2nd dose yesterday and she ran a fever as well. Turned the bed into a swimming pool from all the sweating. My fever has broken, but she's still running a slight one being 24 hours behind me in getting her injection.

My parents got their second shot yesterday. They are good. no side effects so far. They were told it would take about a week before the vaccine was fully effective. I think thats something a lot of people misunderstand about vaccines.

I got my second dose of the Moderna vaccine on Friday around 2:00. I've heard the stories about the second dose being the one that seems to have more significant side effects. That was the case with me.

For the first dose, I had a little soreness at the site of the injection for a day or so and that was it.

With the second, I had a few more issues. I had the same soreness for a day or so, but I also had:
--A little soreness in my throat for a few hours (started about 6 hours after I got the shot)
--The next morning, around 5:30am, I woke up shivering. I couldn't get warm enough, even though I was under two blankets.
--The next day, I was tired all day
--The second night (Saturday night), I could not shake some pretty severe chills. I was freezing, even though I was under two blankets, one of which was an electric blanket turned up to its highest setting.

Sunday, I was at about 90%, with the occasional bout of chills, but by this morning (Monday), I'm back to normal.

Yeah, my girlfriend sort of went your route. She was dealing with issues for about three days before she started to return to normal.

I had overnight chills and fever and was good to go by sunrise.
