Need a third options "Don't know".
Of course we all think we will, and we'll want to... but will we? It might take some time.
A splash hire to replace him, (Wilson, Watson, and a few others) would go a long way towards keeping fans engaged,
but truthfully? Although I didn't check out this season when Drew got hurt, my interest level did fall off a good bit.

This fanbase endured 20 straight losing seasons from 67'- 87'.

Still a record in professional sports to my knowledge.

What do you think?

I didn’t say stop caring
I said care as much

I promise you the average fan cared more about the winning seasons we had with Brees than in 70’

Of course. At least for me. If you do not then you aren't a true saints fan and just a Brees fan, in my opinion. I have been through years of losing and heartbreak and know I have enjoyed the Brees era. I never took those years for granted. I had a small taste of success, I want it more now than before. So I will always care.

Nah that's BS. No one enjoyed the Brees years and the super Bowl win more than the people who cheered for this team when they were 1-15. Its easy to enjoy the success. True fans stick by the team no matter what. Bandwagon fans can't appreciate the success fully because they have nothing to compare it with.

I understood your question. "care as much" is going to turn some folks off. Maybe they'd like "be as engaged" better.?.

Not sure I agree with fans caring more about winning seasons than in the 70's. In winning seasons, the actual individual
wins don't seem to mean as much to fans. In those gut it out 7-9 or or 6-10 seasons, it just feels like each game means more.
Each win is it's own celebration. When you go 12-4 or 13-3, fans tend to count the losses, not the wins.

If you’re asking can the Saints survive or attract players after Brees? Yeah. It’s been 15 years of Brees/Payton and that success they brought. That’s two generations. Players going into this draft only know the Saints as a successful franchise.
Even I’ve only seen one season with less than 7 wins. 2005.

I’ll watch. It’s my team. They’ll have success. How much? I don’t know. But they’re not gonna go back to the pre Benson days.

I haven’t cared about the Saints as much “ since the NFL allowed a game changing, Super Bowl appearance deciding no-call... that was blatantly obvious to everyone who’s ever seen it... to stand and ride so the Rams could help the new LA market.

I was ride-or-die invested in the Saints prior to that... but since, I realize it’s an entertainment business, not a pure sport.
