This seems significant.

The credit card companies seem to be really good at involving themselves in any new developments in how people pay for things, rather than getting left behind. I'm all in on Visa for the long haul. May add some MA too just in case. But I think these companies will continue to manage to get their cut of just about every consumer transaction for a long long time.

I've been thinking about picking up some Square too. Hearing they are growing fast.

Yea they're doing some interesting things but would be a completely different kind of play. 500+ P/E ratio so its all speculation for them right now. V / MA are stocks you can set your watch to.

I guess you could say they may take a bite out of V / MA's lunch at some point, as it seems like they're offering some new options for consumers and small businesses, but the folks with money are still using their cards in one form or another and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I’m a genius. I sold Tillray at 52.80 yesterday.

I’m stupid because I took those gains and invested in APHA.(another pot stock that crashed).

All pot stocks crashed. Probably not a bad move, however, since buying $APHA right now before the merger (assuming that happens) is the cheaper and smarter play.

So I’m quitting chewing tobacco. It costs $25 a can in Ontario. Wife said I could take that money that I’d save and spend it on stocks.

So the first stock that I’m going to buy happens to be about the same price. The IPO wasn’t that long ago.

So Bitcoin has surpassed over $50k for the first time ever.. thinking about getting in on it.. it occured to me that, since so many companies are now starting to accept crypto/Bitcoin for payment, it’s kinda like if you could go back in time to the start of civilization and invest in “money”, wouldnt you? Like you could buy shares in currency, in the US dollar- you almost HAVE to.. that may be what we’re seeing here.

I bought CHWY a few months ago, and it’s done well.. i like that their model is shipping pet food to your hone.. i’m sure Petco has a website, but their business is mostly based on brick and mortar.

I got into CHWY around 60 and am long in it.
He compares CHWY to PETCO at the 10:15 mark:

Yeah I got in on crypto a couple weeks back (mostly ETH, some BTC and ADA), up 10% already even though my timing wasn't great. I agree that as adoption grows for using it as payments, they'll have more value than just speculation.

I'm also thinking about trying out doing some crypto volatility trading since they take such large swings. I figure you could probably grow 1% per day (compounded daily) with a little luck.

Interesting.. nice to know that an ‘expert’ like Kramer agrees with my amateur take on the difference between Chewy and Petco... I’m not crazy about how he compared Chewy to Robinhood though, ha

ETA: that clip is from a month ago, might have been right before the RH debacle(?)
