Im not much of a fan of it either. Think 16 games is plenty. On top of that the extra contest isnt even a conference game. Most NFC-AFC Matchups lack sizzle or juice.

Honest question here. Didn't his union agree to this?
Yes they did. Sure there were quite a few such as Kamara who weren't in favor. From what i heard those who were in favor of deal were mainly younger or lower paid players. NFL bumped up min. wage a good bit for those players.

That's because he is starting to figure out what the rest of us already know...the NFL doesn't care about players...only the almighty dollar

yes, and I couldn't believe they voted to those terms offered. They got short end of the stick in so many ways.
Well, this new CBA negations came right along the same time the pandemic was in full swing with the lost of revenue from empty stadiums. So many of these players that voted for this deal were afraid of not getting any reasonable compensation. So they caved in earlier.

I feel your pain Alvin. I have not liked paying full price for pre-season games for decades either, but those are the rules. (Yes, they have adjusted the prices for individual games, but we all know charging anything for pre-season is a joke.)

The players agreed to the 17 game season. They will get paid more money because of it. They will eventually agree to an 18 game season, because of MONEY.

I'm just a fan and love me some Saints' football. Be glad I'm not the commissioner. I'd be pushing for something crazy like a 30 game season 😂
Yeah but would you really be pushing for it if some key starters got inquired and could not play?

If you are wanting your team to get to the Superbowl, would you really want them playing these additional games?

The Union he was a part of rolled over and accepted the NFL’s first offer.

The time to care was back when something could have been done about it.
The NFL union is problematic within itself because the large pay gap and how they implemented a vote per person but not to votes per player pay share. The NFLPA will always be to the mercy to the lowest paid domination because they got the voting majority . It's why the Owners always catering to raising the lowest minimum pay.

Saints could throw you in at LT and I'd have a cold case of beer in the fridge and be ready for Saints' football 😂 Sounds awful, huh?

I completely get where he is coming from, particularly from the perspective of a RB, even more for those bell cow 25-30 touch a game backs. It’s a miracle just for those guys to make it through a 16 plus game season. Every added game makes it that much less likely. The only way to offset the added risk is for the NFL to be even more of the passing “watch how you tackle” game that they have already trended to and none of us like.
