The results on the forty times at these pro days have to be taken with a grain of salt this year. Without the combine to electronically time the runs, way more low times are showing up. Forget the actual time and just compare the times this year against other players’ time of this year to get a ranking of the speeds.

I've that Some of these are laser times verified by NFL scouts.

I don't know about that. Most coaches and scouts use their own stopwatches as a reference. They can look at the official laser time but it's not going to make a big difference on how fast you think a guy is.

Compare the pro day times to previous years pro day times (instead of combine) to get a better idea of the player's speed

they should never be used honestly, no one ever runs in a straight line without pads on in the NFL. id be more worried about those cone drills and quick movement drills

I know but Terrace Marshall at 4.38? Maybe they find a way to not move their hand until the last possible moment and the timer starts late. I mean like one tenth of a second late.

Not surprised by any of the times of the LSU WRs. Marshall was expected to be fast, he was also a 5* recruit and one of the best in the nation. He's continues to prove that.

It does seem a wee bit odd how many guys are running 4.38 and 4.39. Noooot quite a 4.4.

But maybe all these dudes are just fast and running fast in familiar settings?

LSU must have an amazing strength and conditioning program. Justin Jefferson ran a 4.7 in high school and then a 4.43 at the real NFL combine.

Not all tracks created equal.
Ohio for one being notorious for partially far times. Bana as well, iirc.

I have been watching to see if anyone actually says this. Every year Pro Day times almost always drop lower than Combine times. People should add AT LEAST 0.05 seconds to every 40 time, if not more.
