Darnold traded to Panthers (2 Viewers)

They we’re gonna let him walk after this year anyway, I don’t really get the price they paid
Not big price to pay for a kid that talented. I think he’ll be good with Joe Brady, just like I thought he would be under Payton.

People wanted us to give up assets for a dude that's been putting up Josh Rosen stat line.

Odd. Winston and Taysom are better options.

We're not taking 8 players. I'd be shocked beyond belief if we do. We're gonna target specific players who we think can help our team. One of them may well be a quarterback.
He's talking about the 8th pick fam.

When was Teddy ever far superior? Good lord you guys didn’t watch the same games as me and again watch him last year
Its Sam Darnold dude. So yes Teddy B is a far superior QB to Sam Darnold by a lonnnng way. This move is about money and not winning. Come on. Darnold is costing them 4.7 million to lose vs TB 20 million to lose.

You think they traded a 2nd, 4th, and 6th for cap space? It’s a wash. Teddy costs them 23 mil to keep, 20 mil to cut. Next year Darnold costs 20 mil to keep and Teddy cost 5 mil to cut. It’s about 25mil both years either way. They traded a 2nd, 4th and 6th because they know Teddy isn’t the guy and they think Darnold could be.

Good trade for Carolina. The price for Darnold was not high. A six this year, and a two and a four next year will not greatly set the franchise back even if Darnold disappoints. And Darnell with the Jets was in a terrible place. He has talent and is still young. There is a reason he was a top five pick.

I honestly don’t like it for us, darnold is very talented and was in the worst situation he could be in while in NY. Now he goes to a team that has him surrounded with weapons, and Joe Brady? Yikes
The man sees ghosts.

The Jets buy high and sell low. It’s what they do.

I was never sold on Darnold when he was drafted..... and I'm still not .
Called him a bust prospect....so far so good

The Panthers are picking up Darnold’s option so he cost $5m in ‘21 and $19m guaranteed in ‘22. Carolina overpaid for Teddy and the 3 picks seems like an overpay for Darnold.

Darnold is 23 years old, been in the NFL for 3 years, has had 2 head coaches and 2 different offensive systems, no one to throw to, and no 1000 yard rusher in that dumpster fire of a Jets organization.

Now he goes to a team with a decent O line, Christian McCaffrey, 2 good receivers and possibly a 1st rounder from LSU or Alabama, Joe Brady as O coordinator, and he's a bust?

Excuse me while I laugh at dumb statements.

I mean, yeah, I guess he could possibly be a bust, but it's way to early to tell and sometimes it takes a little while for QBs to come around. The upside is too great to pass up.
