The mask mandate has been lifted in Ms.,but private businesses have the final say. If they require a mask. I'm going to honor it. Btw,I'll be 6 weeks past my 2nd Phizer dose Friday. If a business asks you to wear a mask before entering, please comply. Don't be that guy

Indeed. It's a nice courtesy to those who have yet to be vaccinated and to the business as well. I've never understood the need to be that guy.

Finally convinced myself to get it and just got the second dose a week ago. In 2 weeks, I will not be wearing a mask into stores anymore. I'll walk to my table at a restaurant with it on just for theater. But now that i'm vaccinated, i'm done with the mask thing.

The "mask on for the walk to the table then take it off for the rest of the 2 hour meal" is one of the dumber pieces of COVID safety theater.

It's the COVID equivalent of removing your shoes at the airport.

I'll be very glad for all of the mask foolishness to go away (outside of some narrow exceptions).

I have to be honest. I thought about it for a nano second, and then common sense took over. There are employees in these stores who haven't been vaccinated yet. They have no clue who has been or not, I personally don't carry my card and say I'm vaccinated,so I'm not wearing a mask. Just be nice. It's an easy thing to do :)

Well said.

I follow rules on masks if there is an explicit sign saying, no entry without a mask. If there is no sign, I use my own judgement, but keep a mask in my pocket in case I am confronted by a Karen Manager.

Please be respectful to others whether you're vaccinated or not. Most "Karen Managers" are simply following orders and doing what their jobs require. Customer service workers are just people trying to get through their day.. just like everyone else.

I do, I mean a "Karen" Manager would be someone who went up to someone, who did not have a mask on, and did not give that person a chance to reach in their pocket and put one on and escalated the whole thing without giving the person a chance to put a mask on. I legit forgot a couple of times and then put my mask on while walking in somewhere and saw people with masks. If a person ran up to me and said GET OUT, without giving me a chance to put a mask on, or immediately called the police, they would be a Karen. The VAST majority of people who are managers or workers at businesses are great.

I got my second vaccination (Moderna) about three hours ago. I waited 39 days between vaccinations. I didn't have any side effects other than a bit of soreness in the arm after the first one, and I am waiting to see what happens with this one. I should know in a few hours.

Good luck! The first night should be fine, you will likely feel it tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night. Purely anecdotal, but about 70% of the people I know who got Moderna felt pretty bad after shot two on the second night. They had a bad night that night and a bad day the next day. They were all back to 90% or so after Vax +3 days after Moderna shot number two. After shot #1, I just had a sore arm, shot #2 kicked me pretty hard, but no big deal in the end. Getting vaxxed up feels great!

I walked into Super 1 yesterday having forgotten to grab my mask when exiting my truck... There was a lady inside the door on mask duty and she told me that I needed to put on a mask and offered one to me. I told her.. "Whoops! I forgot! I have one in my truck and will go back and get it (mine is better)". That's the second time that I forgot to put on my mask at that store. Senior moments.

I don't have any problem being told to wear a mask, but I can see where I might get upset if approached by a person with an attitude.

Thanks! My wife got her second Moderna vaccine this past Friday morning. That evening she was tired and had some body aches. I told her it was the side effects from the vaccine. She snapped, " No it isn't! It's because I ate too much sugar!". I was like "Okay then, boss". She was fine the next day.

I am not advising people to break rules but, if you keep a mask in your pocket and whip it out if somebody tells you something, I think you will be fine. The only instances of cops wrangling people to the ground or actually tasing people without masks, have been unruly people who refused to "comply" with a request by a business or a Law Enforcement Officer. I would 100% comply with either of those, but I might take my business elsewhere in the future. Just remember that a business owns its own property and they can set the rules in regards to who they provide services to. (Of course they are not legally allowed to discriminate on the basis of many factors, but not wearing a mask is along the same lines of "no shoes, no shirt, no service" and those types of rules are allowed.)

Totally agree with this. I'll comply if asked by store management. Im thinking of getting a hat or shirt. "vaccinated, no mask needed"

I think I will go with the doctors suggested and hope for best , I do trust you guys too . As for my wife , LOL , we're both 62 , I'm at my job that I've been with for 40 years ( I'm the Boss & the oldest one in the company ) . Right after the last Saint's game the president from The Woodlands called me to say he was sorry we had lost . For some reason they love me here , also , some of the guys here at work the vaccine , it's a no .
Well heck, then short of a history of allergic reactions to vaccines, sounds like she should get it too.

Now, she could be like my dad.. he's waiting to see "if mom dies from it" first. ....sigh.

It's the reason I still won't eat there if the restaurant is too crowded or not open air. We've sat at a place, and then they put people too close to us, got uncomfortable, and took the rest to go.

Usually we just order take out.

Even vaccinated, my wife went to a bar for a mini 'Wake' for a friend that passed... she wore her mask, took it off to take a sip, put it back on.

When we eat, when we finish out meal, take a break, or are waiting for it, we usually keep our masks on.

I don't need house rules to tell me what I feel is or isn't safe. However, I usually do 'extra' vs less than required. Except outside. That's just silly.

My school nurse has a history of allergic reactions to stuff also. So she ended up getting hers at the hospital when they were giving for at risk people. She had no issues

I’m going the Flava Flav route - gold plating my card and hanging it around my neck
