I feel side effects from the flu shot, so I'm expecting to have some from this one, especially since it's a single dose. One of my coworkers, his partner got the J&J shot and he felt like crap the day after. Not sure if he had a fever or not, but definitely malaise.
Yep. Free diabeetus with vaccine.

I'm getting the shot at night, so I'll schedule Friday off from work, just in case. We're still working from home, so I'll work a bit on Friday if I feel up to it, and take off early or all day for a three-day weekend if I feel like arse.
I posted a few pages back but no response. I need convincing on this second shot....with science not opinion. I'm not anti vax by any means. I'm also pro mask etc etc. The problem I have is I had covid and got the first shot. Sick as a dog. Tells me my antibody response is very strong. That first shot was basically my booster. I see no reason behind 2 boosters. I was pretty sick.....I don't want to go through that again without solid scientific reasoning. The problem is this virus and studies are new so it's tough to find any real studies done that show the reasoning behind 2 boosters. I've saw the " 2 shots give you better variant protection" stuff but what I haven't seen is scientific proof or studies that focused on people that had had the virus prior to the first shot. I don't necessarily want to decline the 2nd shot but I also see no reasoning for it and I was really sick after the first.

I will read those. I'm not trying to be defiant about the vaccine. I would much rather be educated. There's just not a ton of info out there on studies with people that have gotten covid and then the effectiveness of the shots. I personally assume I'll get the 2nd shot but at the same time I think it's unnecessary. It may not be the not answer you want, but if you have a primary care physician, you should really talk to them.
From what I’ve seen, the 2 shot vaccines reach 80%+ after the first shot, but don’t stay that high/as long without the booster/second shot. Some countries are stretching that second shot dose out for that reason.
Pfizer, Moderna COVID-19 vaccines highly effective after first shot in real-world use, U.S. study shows
COVID-19 vaccines developed by Pfizer Inc with BioNTech SE and Moderna Inc reduced risk of infection by 80% two weeks or more after the first of two shots, according to data from a real-world U.S. study released on Monday.www.reuters.comOne dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines was 80% effective in preventing Covid in CDC study of health workers

I've been drinking too haha. Like I say....I will probably get the shot but man am I dreading it. I was pretty dang sick after the first shot. Not looking forward to that again and I feel it's unnecessary.FWIW, your immune system is probably reacting because you had Covid. But also, the vaccines don’t develop the same antibodies as the infection does. For example, after vaccination, I tested negative for Covid infection antibodies but positive for protein spike antibodies.
So only IMO (and you should talk to your doctor), you should get the second shot to develop your generalized antibodies which may have even been hindered (total speculation) by your learned virus immune response.
To be clear, I am not a doctor And I have been drinking so take that FWIW.
I’m not trying to tell you what to do, because I agree that you probably have a reasonably solid level of immunity. But there’s probably an argument for juicing your vaccine antibodies because they are more generalized against variants.I've been drinking too haha.
