Have you seen @Oye? I’m concerned.
No I have not. Ive been checking in to see any posts from him.

Just a couple of example of poor leadership from up here, last Sunday the Education Minister comes out and says all kids can go back to school after their 1 week break, schools are 99% safe. The next day the Premiere of Ontario Doug Ford(yes the brother of famous Rob Ford) says nope all schools closed and online learning only.
Yesterday Doug extended the 4 week lockdown to an additional 2 weeks so now 6 weeks and his presser he says the police can stop you in your cars and ask questions why you are out during lockdown. The next day the police force says they will not be doing this. Just a couple of examples.

Agree with a lot of the points, but he also made a lot of speculative conclusions that countered some of the good points. He also called the CDC’s early measures about sanitizing groceries and surfaces as “lies”. That was very early on about a novel virus. It wasn’t lying by the CDC. His main point about give me facts, Doc, I agree with. Unfortunately Bill sensationalized some hindsight conclusions of his that countered his dissing all media about sensationalizing. It took a lot of bite out of some very good information, IMO.

It was the usual bullshirt from Bill. He does exactly what he accuses the media of doing. He tries to create controversy to get attention and ratings. I thought that everyone had stopped paying attention to him many years ago. Of course, that's probably why he says stuff like this, to get attention again.

As you said, his speculative conclusion and attack on the media as though all media does the same thing make his main point disappear in his haze of bullshirt. There was and is plenty of good information out there, you just have to be willing to look for it and be critical when reading. Of course, that applies to every subject.

I just loved it because you could feel how uncomfortable it made his crowd.

I've lost 2 friends to covid. Neither were overweight. A co-worker lost 4 weeks of work . He wasn't obese either. The bottom line is we are still learning and don't know how it affects everyone. . I appreciate Maher's enthusiasm , but some of that video has a lot of misinformation
I would also point out that 78% of hospitalized COVID patients being overweight or obese doesn’t mean much when approximately 70% of the US population is overweight or obese.

Yes, the 8% difference is significant, but not as significant as it’s made out to be.

sheet is really bad in India and going to get worse - they’ve been over 200K new cases everyday for a few days now, those cases are still a couple of weeks away from hospitalization.

Yeah, the tolerance levels of the BMI charts are pretty stringent. I'm in decent shape and keep my weight in check, but according the CDC's chart I'm considered overweight by about 2 pounds. At 5' 8" my weight should be between 122 and 164 pounds. So, I'm officially overweight per their standards.
