Winston Work Out Video Updates 5-12-21: Working out with Jay Glazer to improve core strength and hip fluidity (1 Viewer)

Yeah I noticed it said “Winston’s longtime photographer.” I don’t see Taysom having a personal photographer.
Winston has a full entourage of longtime friends for his training and social media pics, posts, videos. I am not a fan of his training, which is more fluff than translatable to actual football related to the QB position...the things he NEEDS to work on. I know he has reached out to Tom House, but it doesn't seem like he is constantly training outside his box of friends on his terms. I hope he continues to seek mentorship and work with those types of "gurus" who can elevate his game, not just click bait videos of running through boxing bags. It is good to see him working with other guys from the team, though!

I don't feel like this is a fair assessment. Winston was humbled when he was cut by Tampa and has done some soul searching on why that happened. Sure he may have a video guy but there is a lot of bad film out there that he has to show he is working on correcting those issues. It's a virtual resume saying I'm putting in the work to all 32 teams. Everything I have seen from him is that he is taking this opportunity very seriously because he is fighting for his professional life. Loss weight, eyes fixed, constantly working on pocket presence, etc. He is showing a very high level of maturity and I'm excited to see what he brings to the table this year. I'm not expecting him to play better than Drew or be Drew but I expecting to see an improvement on 2019 Jameis for sure!

Exactly. He seems to be doing all the right things, and the fact that he has an entourage just means he is trying to sell the image of a first round talent that has struggled but is trying to get better at the game. He is putting his money to work.

Nothing is wrong with his work ethic. Drew had a unique grind that most people cannot match. It's Winston's decision-making that's his biggest weakness. Also, I just hope he's spending as much time dissecting film as he does with physical workouts.

Much of the time bad decision making when it’s that consistent is a direct reflection of poor preparation. I don’t think we will see that continue with Winston if he indeed learned anything under Drew

He has had the entourage and high profile social media presence since day 1. This isn't anything new. He has been a hard worker (his QB coach at TB says he works harder than anyone he has been around and works almost TOO hard...almost to being counterproductive). He has always been involved in working with kids, ribbon cutting, charities, etc. and all with a very documented social media presence for all of it. He has always documented and shared his workouts. He was doing that, all while performing sub-par. Him being optimistic and charitable doesn't mean anything if can't show it on the field of play. He is saying all the right things, but it all still has to translate to the field and we will not know until it happens. I hope he can internalize his epiphany and new mantras and make it tangible. If he gets it all together it will be an actual re-invention and he could be special.

There is just something wrong with his football DNA if he can't at least show improvement. He can say and try to practice all the right things, but I hope he CAN translate it to the field of play. He has some things that are very deep seeded in his DNA at the position that is concerning that have nothing to do with technique, knowing the scheme, reading D's, etc. He was absolutely HUMBLED with being cut and seeing what was basically his FULL team win a SB with the main thing missing being only him. That has to be brutal to witness and accept. Usually, that would really have a negative reinforcement with him, but he has turned into a very confident, positive machine. I hope he can keep out of his own head if things don't go his way or if he starts to slip back into old habits/mindsets. He seems to have matured a LOT and that is great. There isn't anyone out there who is as positive as he is, saying all the right things, working as hard (but hopefully working on translatable things to the game). He doesn't seem to be doing it as a "F.U., I am going to show you all" out of spite, but embracing his negatives and trying to find the answer to them. I hope he isn't just talking himself into this new mindset and truly believes it and not writing checks his interviews can't cash. If he gets it all together, it is a WIN/WIN for us and him for whatever and wherever he goes/does in the future. I would love nothing but to see this young man succeed!

Didn't feel necessary to make 7 billion threads for work out clips. Just rename the thread title and post them in here.

I don't want to turn this into a Winston vs Hill thread. There's enough of those. But, I wonder why we don't hear anything about Hill this offseason? I assume he's doing similar things, right? Or, is he out playing golf or something?
He's in Switzerland looking at cutlery.

I was thinking the same thing. What would be more humbling than seeing your former team win a SB with the biggest thing changed being you? We will see if being open to learning produces any improvement. I would expect there to be some improvement in turnovers and for SP to slowly open the playbook if the INT's are reduced and Jameis gains more confidence as he works in this system. Looks like he will not have a first round pick breathing down his neck because of our draft position this year, so it is now or never for him, and he probably knows it.

Pretty much this. This is a make or break season for his career. Either he shows massive improvement with a real coach and OC who can utilize his skillset, or he washes out and becomes a journeyman backup. There's not much middle ground to be had.
