I also watched Ohio State games, and I have a different impression.

Werner was the guy in charge, he moves well and is always around the ball.

He may not make spectacular plays, but he is very reliable. An all-around type of linebacker.
When Najee Harris is your team's running back you get to pay a lot of attention to the other team's linebacker play. Watching the Bama/OSU game this year I sent a text to some of my buddies that said the Ohio State Linebackers were arse kickers. I can easily screenshot that.

Jabril Cox is still on the board in the late 3rd
RIGHT!?!?!? So many on here are screaming for Cox (TLDR I was too, just in the privacy of my own home) and yet, he's still sitting undrafted. Looks like many, including myself, don't know as much as we think from watching a few games on Saturdays.

The fact some of you think drafting a QB is more pressing than LB (for like the third time, Davis is the ONLY legitimate LB on that roster) is crazy to me. I think Winston is going to surprise the entire league next year. I doubt Hill lasts the entire season.
I would have been P'Oed if NO drafted a Qb at bottom of second Rd. No bottom of second rd guy is going to be better than WIN-ston

I watch Ohio St games. Was never impressed. He’s decent and I’m not expecting much. Like I said in another thread, I will eventually become at ease with this pick. It’s just that SP has a “type” and an infatuation with a certain university (although I do like a lot of their players). The same type the past 15 years. This wasn’t an Ireland pick. This has SP all over it. I think that’s my main issue. That’s short sidedness, imho.

You didn't watch OSU games if that's what you came across with in regards to this player and if your trying to convince people that your evaluation is more keen than the Saints organization then I'll just leave you with this emoji 🤣

I'm actually fine with what he said. If you watch games that a player we selected played at and don't like them then that's okay. What I don't like is people acting like they know he would've been available later on. It's ludicrous, you don't know that and stop pretending like you do.

If you didn't like the pick but respect Ireland and that doesn't change your mind then I don't care about your opinion, sorry not sorry.

This is kind of weird draft not in bad way I think it's just first time we had consistency on defensive side as far as coaching and scheme in sp era. the saints entire draft seems concise to how we been playing defensive scheme, and I feel that's kind of new to saints fans. teams like ravens and Patriots picks always feel good cuz they fit the scheme they been playing for feels like forever now it seems like what we are trying to do the same. i think that's why it's harder for everyone to see. we play like a nickel cover 3 blitz scheme. A line backer with good instincts is needed over an athletic one, because guessing wrong or over committing leaves huge wholes but if we switch schemes year after year as we been doing before dennis allen. the athletic pick is always safer since they can adjust faster. I feel both sides of the argument during this draft.
