Marvel Studios announces Phase 4 movies (1 Viewer)

i always thought so
was kinda surprised that he was the horse marvel rode to the MCU, but i was thinking about that with Sun's post
if the Eternals are kinda meh, then there's lots of growth potential there

at first i thought Sun was getting at a tech thing - using the new LED screen technology - but i'm pretty sure i heard Wanda used it so it's not new to Marvel
from the trailer, it looks like the Eternals is trying to tell a global story - maybe something like what Sense8 tried but never quite pulled off

I don't think this movie used The Volume (the giant LED screen/dome that renders CGI locations in real time to film on. They used it on The Mandalorian pretty extensively and I know Thor: Love and Thunder will use it) at all. It's supposed to have the highest number of actual location shots of any MCU film, which was something Chloe Zhao really pushed for. Very little soundstage stuff apparently.

It’s probably a good thing superhero movies don’t do random drug testing

It's a pretty open secret that the studios will hook you up with trainers that will give you a little something extra when you get these gigs. But from what I've seen, ATJ is apparently on that Ultimate Warrior sheet.

Not sure what the ramifications of this will be, but...

This has been known for a while. Derrickson wanted to go pretty much full tilt horror with it, Feige said they weren't going to do that. That was that.

We're getting a Sam Raimi Doctor Strange movie out of it, so I'm fine with that.

Yeah, I'd actually forgotten about the horror angle. I liked the first Dr. Strange movie, but expanding on the Multiverse angle seems like a thread that can bring a lot to the table. That, and I'm not really a fan of the horror genre, so this works for me.

I also suspect Disney didn't want the horror angle as well since that isn't exactly their wheelhouse anyway.
