What was the greatest comedy of all time. (2 Viewers)

Documentation for my case. And for the record I’ll be trying to convince you all for a few weeks. This is your winner and acceptance is the answer.

I have never seen an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond.

My wife liked that show, you aren’t missing anything, although, I will admit his standup act on HBO was surprisingly decent....

Big Lebowski
Animal House
Old School

Ive never seen a ep of The Simpsons.. funny thing is, I remember watching Fox when it was new network in the late 1980s and seeing ads for this new show called The Simpsons before it premiered , and thinking ‘That looks funny, i need to check it out’.. as i type this 32 years later, i still haven’t gotten around to it.

We're the Millers
Great movie. If this is your kind of humor, check out Office Christmas Party

ha.
so i came to realize that almost all of the movies selected here were of the gags and bits variety - one-liners and sight gags, et al
and hardly any were of the 'witty' variety
there was one Coen Brothers movie mentioned (i've called it their most hi brow/low brow movie) and someone added 'The Thin Man' which is very witty
No Woody Allen (though i would not include him for 'problematic' reasons), no Paul Thomas Anderson, one Terry Gilliam, no tim Burton, et al and no Wes Anderson until you add a movie of his as a 'worst' even though that, Rushmore and Life Aquatic are very funny movies
I mentioned Rushmore earlier.

I'll add O Brother Where Art Thou

If I were just picking one I’d go with the Dudley Moore version of Arthur.

it’s at least the greatest lead performance and I would put the moose up for supporting as well. Moose nailed it.
Forgot about that one!

You know I don't want to think to laugh. When I watch a comedy I just want to sit back and just laugh. Waiting is one of those movies I can just laugh at. I find Ryan Reynolds funny. I can't really think of one of his movies I did not enjoy.

Zombieland! Funny stuff! Also the bowling movie with Woddy Harrelson. Kingpin I think.
I was crying during the fight scene

Submitted for approval:

Tom Hanks'
The Man With One Red Shoe
Joe vs The Volcano

One of the gags from The Man With One Red Shoe I never picked up on until I learned more about the subject was the "suppressed" revolvers. 99.9% of revolvers can't be suppressed...

Joe v Volcano was an underrated comedy, and doesnt get mentioned these days as often as it should amongst the other good films that Hanks did in the 80s and 90s.
