Which is bullshirt because those of us who are vaccinated are also the ones that masked up the first time. It's so frustrating.
And worse, those who dug their heels in are going to get even more grief which will just drive those heels even deeper. It's a vicious cycle. But, stubborn people do stubborn things.

Honestly with schools I feel similar. 12 and under mandatory masks. All staff mandatory vaccination. If people don’t want to do those things then either termination or mandatory mask usage for those staff who are not willing. I have at least 4 coworkers who are in the whole change your DNA/go to hell religious thing. Yet they don’t want to come back to work and want to either work remote or something. To which I have told them straight up. You’ve made your decision own it. You choke to death, so be it. Do your job.
The religious thing is appalling and hypocritical in the extreme. What religion promotes infecting your fellow human beings with a potentially deadly disease? They are the ones who belong in hell in my view. What happened to " Thou shalt not kill"?

And as for altering your DNA, ideas like that are why we need laws governing b******* on the internet. A reliable news source has editors to oversee the veracity and accuracy of the content. But any moron can post lies on the internet with impunity. This needed to stop years ago.

Well, remember, this is talking about kids/schools. Not everyone.

Almost none, technically.

As usual, it is mostly ignorance or no centralized authority in the religion.

Even jehova's witnesses allow vaccination.

Yeah, true enough. It's a subset of a subset of a lot of religious organizations. A few churches that I'm familiar with are still doing mostly remote services with only a handful actually on site. Others who are meeting in person are wearing masks unless vaccinated.

That said, there certainly are too many relying on misinformation which is a big factor in their decision making.

I have a 9 year old and a 16 year old (vaccinated). If schools can make you stay home if your vaccination records (normal vaccinations) are not up to date, then they should also be able to make you stay home if you can't show that your child has been vaccinated.

There are parents right now at my 9 year old's school screaming "My child, my choice". I say yes, it's your choice. If you choose to not vaccinate your child then you choose to educate them yourself. Your child, your choice. Don't endanger the health of my child by sending your unvaccinated child to be around mine.

I had a coworker ask me why I was still wearing my mask even though I have been vaccinated. I am simply not committed to the lie like the vaccine doubters. When you have folks putting their lives on the line to prove me wrong, they are far more committed than I am. I'll just wait and see what happens while wearing a mask.

The only counter I can think of in comparing the existing vaccination requirements against the Covid vaccine, is that the existing vaccinations are FDA-approved fully, Covid is not. Hopefully this changes soon so the FDA part is no longer a part of the argument.

I'll have to share this CDC data when I get home.

But interesting to see that for most.of the country. ALPHA is still the predominant variant around. DELTA is in second place on most places, but way in 1st place in Region 7 (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska). Almost 75%

Region 8 too. Mountain north region. Almost like a strike down the middle of the country.

Oh, and those numbers are from last month. It takes a while.

I wonder how many people will need to die before the anti-vacs decide that it's better to take their chances with getting vaccinated. Will it take losing a child, a parent or a spouse to change their mind?

I posted this in the vaccine thread, but this is Louisiana's numbers for today...

New cases are approaching surge levels again.

Great job, Louisiana. /sarcasm

If you look at the graph for Louisiana, we're about two weeks behind where were at this time last year. On July 2, 2020, the numbers were almost identical to what they are today as far as new cases and 7-day average. The slope of the graph is almost identical to last year, as well. It's happening again and people don't give a shirt. I'm going to go ahead and predict that this fall / winter is going to be just as bad as the last one was. If I had to bet on it, I'd feel pretty comfortable placing a large amount of money on that prediction just because people are so forking stupid.
