That festival also introduced the world to Jimi Hendrix. I would have loved to been there as well and seeing him set his guitar on fireOtis Redding, Monterey Pop ‘67.
Or really that festival in general. But Otis was doing God’s work that night.
Beatles at City Park, 1964... i actually have a framed enlarged copy of the ticket from that day, and at one point a couple years ago i lived exactly 0.9 miles from the exact spot where they performed that day.. i used to daydream about being able to hear them from my house, then wandering down and entering the concert.. of course, I wasnt born yet when it actually occurred.
A close second would be Frampton in ‘76.. i have an older friend who actually saw him on that tour, and whenever i see her i ask her again to tell me all about it.
“It took me 10 minutes to hitchhike from right next door”Sorry to quote myself…. But there’s an addendum to the Frampton story…. Every time I’d see my older friend over the years, I’d ask her to tell me all about seeing Frampton Comes Alive in concert in ‘76…. She’d regale me with the tale of how she and her friend , both only 15 at the time, hopped a bus to go see Frampton with, in her words, “only a dimebag and a box of Fudge Stripes”…. I always envisioned this epic journey, almost like something out of a Paul Simon song, where they rode 12 hours to see this once-in-a-lifetime event……. Well, last time i saw her, she clarified that the concert was just outside of where she lived in Pittsburgh, and - it was only a 10 minute bus ride ! So that takes away a little of the romanticism, but hey- if you can say on your deathbed that you saw Frampton live in ‘76, that has to be a major life highlight for anyone.

I could listen to Beth Gibbons sing all day.I would have liked to been at the Portishead show in NYC when they recorded their live album with the orchestra.50 Greatest Live Albums of All Time: Portishead’s ‘Roseland NYC Live’ (1998)
These 50 live LPs conjure such an enthralling aura that listeners may feel as if they’re right there in the audience witnessing the spectacles firsthand.www.albumism.com

I had a ticket to ZZ Top at the warehouse back in 1974. That's where the live version songs on the Fandango album were recorded. My mother told me No you are not going. You can't argue with mom,but a part of me is still mad.Not quite a "concert" but any band at The Warehouse.
