When you have Bush and Deuce why would you have stecker in the game?

less attention drawn to him. At least thats what I thought. That's how they've used Stecker in the past. People tend to key in on Deuce/Reggie but ignore Stecker. So they'll put Stecker in to run Reggies routes and he'll have more room to work with then Reggie would have.

hahaha I like this thread. I have kind of thought that every single time he has been in during this season. And then when he caused the Ravens TD I REALLY thought it.

I just don't get it, why take away Bush or Deuce touch's per game with or backup Stecker? If I could ask the coach one question that would be it.

This highlights a concern I have. The trend for us offensively has been mainly to outthink or trick the defense. It seems that many of our plays are predicated on exploiting attention given to Bush or the use of players in unexpected ways. Is this the only way we can be successful? Is this Peyton's coaching philosophy or is it an indication of talent capacityl? Can we not just line up and pound Duece sometimes? And how long can we continue to out-think or trick teams? I guess we are a finesse team. But as I see it, as the season progresses, there will be points where teams are going to force us to play straight up. Go Saints!!!

Becuase he makes pretty good money so he should have to earn it time to time. Also, Peyton held Deuce out of most of the game when it was apparent we weren't going to be running today so he has basicly rested it for 2 weeks now.

The Raven's sniffed that play out. They flat out beat us. Colston was free on the left side. The Raven's were intent on taking away the dink stuff and did a great job. The deep routes were open all day. But to do that, Brees needed better protection. We were in the redzone quite a few times and came away with no points. Credit the Ravens D and the fact that we fell so far behind that it took Carney out of the equation.

he should have caught the pass, but instead turned his head to see the defense closing in on him. yep, batted ball for a defensive touchdown.

Coach Payton has a good offensive mind but sometimes I think he overthinks things too much. Sometimes you just have to give the ball to Deuce or Reggie straight up and see if teams can stop them. I think he tries to get too fancy sometimes.

because if he's good enough to sign a contract and make the team, he's supposed to be good enough not to let a pass bounce off his facemask and get intercepted.
