Are the Saints the best organization in the NFL? (1 Viewer)

And let's not forget the best receiver we had hardly even showed up, through no fault of his own I'd think. (Callaway)

To be one of the best organizations, imo, you need to withstand the turnover whenever a major part of a franchise leaves. Thats why I wouldn’t put a team like the Bucs on the list when they won in ‘02 but completely fell off the map for eighteen years.
The Steelers are the gold standard for me. Only three coaches in the last fifty years. Each a HOFer in their own right.
I think it’s too early to tell since it’s only been one game post Brees, but I’m very optimistic about the future and this season.
Good points - like ranking QBs (or any other position really) it probably doesn’t make much sense to do a 1-32 ranking- but I do think you can slot teams into tiers
Saints, Steelers, maybe Pats and Chiefs in the top
Jets, Giants, Jags in the bottom
Everyone else in between depending on how you weight different criteria

If this team makes the playoffs, then they should be in consideration as the best organization in football right now.

Pats, Steelers, Ravens, Packers (yes even with their current dysfunctionality) would be in the conversation.
First, it's just one game and we need to at least make the playoffs to be in that conversation. I think the Ravens are the current gold standard because they have won 2 rings in a 20 + time span with 2 different QBs. I would put Pitt right behind them because they are always in the hunt. The Pats are kinda in the same boat as us can the team be a contender with a new QB. This is about Payton making the HOF at this point because I think Walsh is the only coach to win rings with 2 different QBs.

The Saints had some rough years with bounty gate, Vicodin, and stale assistant coaches but have since gotten the organization back on track. Easily one of the best in the league. I've liked and supported Coach Payton from the day he threw Wayne Gandy's recliner out of the locker room.

Pats, Steelers, yeah, not Chiefs yet, but they're on their way with Mahones. And we'll see about the Pats without Brady.

It’s crazy to think Loomis has been here since 02. Even pre Payton/Brees.
and admittedly, I didn't think putting the contracts guy in the top position was going to work. It works because we have a coach who knows talent and they brought in others who know talent. They all work together so well that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. And lets not forget the importance of an owner who doesn't get involved and gives them whatever they need. I hope we can keep them all together for as long as possible.

Saints have the 5th best record through the past decade, doesn't count back to 2009 so since the Super Bowl Saints are definitely one of the top teams, probably in top 2 or 3.

Gotta question the Pats on this list... I think their mistakes were covered by having the second best QB in football

Joe Gibbs = 3 QB's

I said this 10 years ago. And we've done it.

When it comes to running an offense Payton along with Andy Ried is hands down the best coach.
