They have to play and start Stills next week. We get infatuated with UDFAs but they are not good enough to shoulder the load - Tony Jones Jr, Juwan Johnson, Callaway, Lil Jordan Humphrey. I’d add Harris to that as well. He’s an elite KR but I’m not sure he’ll ever be an above average WR.

I thought people were getting way too carried away with Callaway as a prospective #1 WR. There’s a reason he went undrafted. He has been a complete non-entity against top tier cornerbacks.

That’s more than half of our skilled players too.

We don’t get any production out of Hogan and Trautman has been a major letdown so far.

You just cannot expect to win games with so little in the way of established talent on offense.

I hate excuses, but as excuses go this one does carry some weight. This definitely doesn't help.
Yep, pretty sure these make the leap from excuses to solid reasons.

not worried about this game, just worried about getting the team healthy.

The picks by Jameis were basically just short punts. Didn‘t change the game trajectory, will only matter if they become a trend.
We likely get points on the board before the half if he doesn't throw that 1st pick. It was an unncessary bomb while we were in FG rance.

No, the first pick took away an opportunity for a FG before half. Not to mention that Carolina returned it and had decent field position that they almost converted into points. I would rather have had the opportunity to attempt a 55-yard FG than give them the ball on 3rd down. If we make it, we might have even gotten a little momentum.

The second INT was in garbage time.

Panthers d line is stout. We are down offensive weapons. A bad combination. Jameis was under duress the entire game. Looks like this season will be a roller coaster because the cap kills our depth.
It’s not a lack of weapons… just saying

Edit: I mean our WR and Jameis could easily put some nice gains together if they had at least a second more time. But linemen folded like origami

OMG!!!! They lost a 6% of their games already!!!!! Let's just call it. See you all next year.

I think the Covid coaching losses this week showed up today. The offense, especially, was completely unprepared across all position groups.
I was wondering if it was more this or more just all the relocation stuff finally caught up to us. Not looking to either for excuse but genuinely curious. Unfortunately you can’t isolate either variable and there are others.

I think that plays a part, too. Easy to say none of it should matter but these are humans going through a significant disruption to their daily life and routine, and with concerns weighing on them just like anybody else. Throw in a week of coaching upheaval and it wasn’t shocking to me that the team looked unprepared. Have to hope they can learn from this and do what they need to for next week.
