THAT is Jameis (1 Viewer)

It was 54 yards. He kicked one of those last year. Career long is 57. Where's that wind?
One whole yard off and 3 yard short of his career high while down 17 points.... Here is some straw for you.

Field Goal does nothing.

You know... We was on the Carolina 33 after blocked FG and Payton elected to go for it.

So, his career long mean didly squat if Payton doesn't want to do it.

Field goal does nothing? It was the 2nd quarter. Give me a field goal on that play and one on the 4th down where Jameis took the sack at the 50 and we have a 17-13 game at one point.

Shoulda kept TEDDY
I agree. I trust Teddy more than I do JW with the ball. Teddy is basically "Brees" who can check down, read defenses, and has a stronger arm than Brees. Saints just didnt have the $$ to pay TB 15-20 mill a year while paying Brees his 30 mill. It is what it is. I hope both do well though..
Last week, everybody saw what Winston can do and Brees couldn't anymore. This week, everybody saw what Winston can't do (adjust protections, efficiency, etc) and Brees did for so long.

Just want to point out Drew never made more than 25mil/yr. He may have counted more against the cap but that’s do to us pushing money back. Drew’s contracts were 6/60, 5/100, 2/50, and 2/50.

How does that look in 2021 dollars?

It's a cornerstone of the WCO. I never heard of a defense complaining about their offense scoring too quickly, just being on the field too long without a break. No one has said Payton's offense was about to change, just the deep ball that forces defenses to respect all levels of the field which was missing the last few years.
Well I‘ve heard it many times that an offense scored too fast and needed to give a defense some rest. Heck, we experienced it many times during our playoff drought. Instead of keeping our defense off of the field and slowing the game down we engaged in shoot outs that ended up shooting us in our own feet. Also, scoring too quickly can be problematic in close games where you need to eat up clock and keep the opposing QB on the sidelines.

My point about the deep ball is that it’s still not going to truly be respected until our wr’s create separation on a consistent basis and Jameis gets time to launch it to them. Otherwise the defense will continue to crowd the line to minimize AK and force Jameis to hero ball his way out of a hole.

I know on his last two contracts lesser QBs were making 30+mil. He definitely could’ve asked for and gotten more.
His last contracts he took less but until then he got top QB money which would have been 35-40 mil with the current pay scale for QBs.

Side note, i do not understand why the Teddy-joe brady connection didnt work. Shocked that they let him go to Denver

He hasn’t gotten top QB money since his second contract in 2012. I’ll just compare his last two to Kirk cousins…In 2018 Drew signed 2/50 25mil/yr cousins signed 3/84, 28mil/yr. Then in 2020 Drew signs another 2/50 and cousins signs 2/66.

In 2019 all of this happened
Goff signed 4/134 33m/yr
wentz signed 4/128 32mil/yr
Wilson signed 4/140 35mil/yr

Watson and Mahomes happened in 2020 with their 35 and 45mil/yr contracts when Drew signed his last 25mil/yr contract. That’s the most we ever paid him. He has been taking less for awhile.

We're saying the same thing, as of 2018 he was on retirement watch (3 years ago). His initial contract was big and the contract in 2012 was market value as well.
