Big match Saturday Liverpool vs ManC 1 vs 2 in the table
Just watched CL PSG /ManC replay.
Saw LFC dispatched their opponent with 5 goals.

Man City doesn't have that aura they once had. Still formidable but something is missing in attack.

Regardless two heavyweights going at it Sat is a great way to kick off weekend!

Much as with Leicester, it's difficult to root against BHA. Same with Brentford. Chance of a lifetime for these fans.

They still beat Chelsea fairly handily last weekend. I was surprised to see them pressing so high to keep Chelsea in the first third. Chelsea is set up to absorb attacking pressure with Tuchel's approach, but maybe not as equipped to play possession out of the back just yet? They basically want to win the ball back and then play through the lines on quick counters and couldn't really do that until later in the second half.

But I'd agree with you on MC. It's crazy the amount of attacking talent that Man City have and yet sometimes it seems like scoring is extremely difficult for them.

MC passing is sublime. I dont know of another team ( current ) that can pass their way out of a full press, inside their own 18, with the precision and calm that City do.

Maybe it was a one-off game vs PSG, but they were completely devoid of ideas and ability once inside PSGs final 3rd. They were relegated to taking shots from 20 yards out and still piling players up and got caught on a counter to go down 0-2. ( which btw, if you havent seen, its quite the break....ended by none other than Messi himself- but the layoff by Mbappe was absolutely perfect -and the skill to pull that off was equally impressive as the goal/break itself )

So the PSG game was basically same thing- PSG sat back, once they got turnover, boom- one pass broke past midfield line, and now you have Mbappe, Messi AND Neymar running at your back 3 with Verati not far behind. If it wasnt for Neymars consistent bad touches, that game could have easily been 4-0.

side note- Neymar looks a bit on the heavy side. Maybe filling out with age, but he looks to have added a bit of weight.

Yep, I saw most of the match and agree.

The Messi goal and setup were great. Just the timing of it and going across goal. Seemed almost effortless.

Do we not have a CL 2021-22 thread?

Cuz CR7 apparently saw what Messi did last night and today said "hold my beer"

Had to be him.

you should go for it
we could have a whole sub on Sherrif - evidently they're lead by an ex-KGB agent (don't even get me started on Transnistria)

I did see they are from Moldova lol. population of 2.6mm

RM get that many in just 4 home games.

crazy.
