It's been almost a week and I still don't know how we lost to the Giants (1 Viewer)

This game seems to be totally on the defense, but I can’t shake the feeling if Sean just let Jameis QB like an average QB and get 30 passes in, we would’ve won. Dude was dialed in and the OL was giving him time…at home.

As much as the D should’ve held up, I chalk this loss up to offensive play calling.

Based on what, exactly?
I just read that WFT has one of the best front 7 in the league, with 2 very good defensive ends.
We know Heinecke can run.
But even with these negatives, I honestly believe the Saints can beat anyone - even now, despite all of the injuries.
Winston can do the job.
And he will only get better.
If our D looks less like last week's 4th quarter and more like the last 2 years, and Payton clears his head, we will win this Sunday.
What is troubling me is hints of some discord among the players.
The Saints have been a very close team in the locker room for years now.
That goes a long way towards achieving a playoff spot in January.
Winston's comments a few days ago took some of the concern down a little.
As well as Kamara's comments.
Based on us having crucial players out, also the fact that Washington usually gives us fits even when we are a good team (I don’t think we are that good this season) based on I think this is a terrible matchup for Jameis and our O.

Also mobile QB’s give us fits, Heinicke is mobile and seems to have ‘it’. I’ve watched a little of em this season as I always do, my siblings and son are die hard Skins fans so I keep up with em.

I hear ya on all of that.
But the Saints are a good team.
How good?
Better than some think, I feel.
And this game has a lot more hanging on it after last week's hiccup [ more like upchuck ].
The season will certainly not be over if we lose, but it could have a lasting affect on the team if we do.
I'm counting on the reality that the Saints players all love one another and WILL NOT accept a loss this week.
And on Payton checking himself throughout the contest.

I hope you’re right, I’ll not hear the end of it if we lose to my fam’s team.

i've already moved on and you should to. We got 13 more games!
Going to be hard to move on if Payton won’t stop forcing Hill into what he wants him to be, not what he is. The turnover risk is high when you call on him to pass. That was a big factor in the Giants loss.

But, yeah, the defense was soft too.

Just remember every game is its own story and nothing is guaranteed.....

Allfather you are a strong man because I am still stuck on 2011 Divisional round against the 49ers
That will always be the most painful loss to me as a Saints fan.
