And most certainly I’m projecting. There are a number of people THAT I TRUST AND WHO I KNOW TRUST ME with whom I’d have no hesitation having a chill, honest and open-minded conversation about racial issues. But with ANY others (much less a national TV audience) I’m definitely going the “shut up and listen” route. Not as a function of cowardice, but rather in recognition of the absence of a venue for a more knowledgeable listener to challenge my opinion in a trusting environment.
As for Drew himself, I expect that he’s heard a lot from people like Jenkins, Colston, DD, MT, etc. about shutting up and listening and I expect he’s taken that to heart. Surely he will be accused of making a “business decision” but I don’t think it’s that craven a decision on his part.
