All good points.

And most certainly I’m projecting. There are a number of people THAT I TRUST AND WHO I KNOW TRUST ME with whom I’d have no hesitation having a chill, honest and open-minded conversation about racial issues. But with ANY others (much less a national TV audience) I’m definitely going the “shut up and listen” route. Not as a function of cowardice, but rather in recognition of the absence of a venue for a more knowledgeable listener to challenge my opinion in a trusting environment.

As for Drew himself, I expect that he’s heard a lot from people like Jenkins, Colston, DD, MT, etc. about shutting up and listening and I expect he’s taken that to heart. Surely he will be accused of making a “business decision” but I don’t think it’s that craven a decision on his part.
But they didn't show him shutting up and listening (not that Tony and Mike said anything worth hearing), they pretended like he wasn't there.

Another good segment. If I'm Bezos, I'm telling Goodell I want the team or my newspaper, known for breaking huge stories, is going all-in on y'all.

Wasn’t he in line for the Broncos though?

He has a house in DC and it use to be a signature franchise before Synder ran it into the ground. Which team would you rather have in this billionaire fantasy?

The NFL is a two-faced hypocrite. The people who they've announced as the next Super Bowl halftime show have sung lyrics that make Gruden's emails look like a Sunday school lesson, and the stuff that was in those emails is really no different than what you hear in any NFL locker room.

Personally, I’d still choose the Broncos. More recent success and stronger fanbase, but I can understand why Bezos would want to stay close to home.

This is a very silly argument. We hold the highest standards in the Military, and hold even the lowest ranking Soldier to account on his behavior and honor. That has nothing ti do with artists and entertainment. We bring those very people, and worse to visit us on Bases and overseas, for the ones brave enough to come.

Artists and entertainment do not represent the businesses that bring them in, hires them to perform, and that is nationwide. Another false argument.

I dunno. I'm jaded but I still don't think everyone thinks like this. Not if they want me to believe they're a nice guy or a nice girl.
Not everyone of course. And as I have aged I really don't either. I have a bigger issue with stupidity at this stage of life.

To the poster saying I am telling on myself. Maybe you think I am a racist pig? I don't really have much to be afraid of saying. I have had my share of derogatory items thrown my way - from all angles - and to be sure I have thrown many back. But, you want find a more fairer person I like to think of myself. I make hiring decisions with annual salary starting in multiple 6 figures. My last two hires (one pending) have been based on the best candidate for the position. Highly qualified. Both of color, one female and one male. The fact I gave them a chance isn't the complete story. They worked hard to become qualified. The fact they are of color is great for those who keep up with that type of thing. I don't. It is stupidity I have no patience for. Unfortunate for me, I find lots of stupidity in the world. A bunch of emails of peoples private thoughts seem to be of great interest to many but I just say look in the mirror. Everyone has their true thoughts and opinions they don't like to publicly display.

So who do those artists represent? Do they represent the best in all of us?

I honestly don’t care if the NFL has NWA, Judas Priest, or Yanni up there performing at halftime (I enjoy Dre, Snoop, KL, and Eminem’s music), it just seems odd that they are cool with performers who’s lyrics aren’t much different from the words typed by guy they just went scorched earth on, but that’s just me.

Then again, the NFL was giving the Saints the death penalty for Bountygate and saying they were about safety, while at the same time showcasing the hardest hits every week on their very own Network.

I'd love to know how many NFL emails have been deleted in the past week. I bet the number is staggering.
And I suspect that if they’re stupid enough to write emails that they need to delete in a panic, they’re probably dumb enough to think that deleting them actually makes them disappear forever.
