Minors get innumerable chances to make mistakes, then they can have those records closed. Young adults in Military make many mistakes, lower ranks, get hand slaps and move forward....but a Sr NCO, SR Officer can be done in by a simple accusation, same goes for corporations, same with NFL.

There are 32 coaches in this country...that's like the amount of top Generals. They are done with just a cheating scandal....see Petreais.

We are the last to smirk at this. If Sean had been in Military, leading men with the Vicodin and Bountygate scandals...he would be in jail. He would have lost his command on the Skylene situation alone. So, I'm just wondering when did we get so high and mighty?

Let's just be thankful that we got a hand slap instead of begging for the NFL as a whole to.fall. Makes you wonder if it's the same people that were against kneeling, then stating they were gonna stop watching NFL wanting it to fall, bc they dont like the cultural changes for the good.

The inverse proportion between citing Orwell and understanding Orwell is increasing exponentially
We're beyond anything Orwell could have conceived of. And, it's just getting started.

Come on man, you are smarter than that to really believe this. All the rap groups coming up in the beginning spoke about real life in their lyrics. Public Enemy, Tupac, Notorious Big, Dr. Dre, Snoop. All of a sudden Eminem comes along, and we are supposed to take his lyrics as "art". That's the biggest cop out I've ever heard. He had no issues including a homophobic slur in a diss track about another rapper, which seemed to align with his personal beliefs about the person. He did end up apologizing and regretting his words, but in the end, he still said what he said. And oh by the way, the lbgtq community has had a major issue with Eminem for a long time. But for some reason he continues to get this pass because it's his "persona" that these lyrics are tied to. Just from the optics alone, the NFL having someone as controversial as Eminem performing during their premier event is a bit odd.

Also, let us not sit here and pretend other forms of art have not been eliminated due to its content. Cartoons, caricatures, comedians, etc... have all been removed if the content was deemed inappropriate for current times. I just can't figure out why Eminem has been so protected. Maybe it was his disdain for the orange man that bought him tolerance amongst the masses
did I come anywhere close to saying that because it's art it is beyond reproach?
no
i said there is no direct analogue between individual, personal expression and artistic content
a few things to mull:
- if Lil Nas X rapped the same lines as MnM does that change the context of the content? of course it does - you're bringing in his personal thoughts mnm expressed outside of his rap to and that's what he is being judged on

now flip that - there isn't anything particularly antisemitic about Wagner's music that i can hear, but i know longer listen to his music bc of his raging anti-Semitism (yes, i know it's a slippery slope that most have to assess for themselves)

i used to be the hugest woody allen fan - at first i thought Manhattan and Husbands and Wives were very insightful character studies, then i found out about Soon-Yi and then they felt more like ironic confessionals (and i still watched them), and then i found out how loathsome and abusive he was and i could no longer watch his movies
it was not the content of what was on screen, but the actual words of his children in real life that changed my mind

trying to assess morality from artistic content is how we get HUAC and NEA 4 and book burnings, et al
it's a tool of the powerful to maintain control - best of avoid it if possible

At the risk of being misunderstood and/or being perceived as nitpicking -- and speaking only for myself -- it's a bit more involved than that for me.

Sometimes thoughts, or maybe more accurately, visceral reactions, come immediately and completely unbidden. Granted, after much personal contemplation, effort and time, such reactions are honestly limited to a matter of milliseconds in my mind. But I think it's important to be honest with myself that they remain there. The childhood poison is always there, ready to bleed out if I don't thoughtfully keep it in check -- usually while watching something like the local news.

Just as one brutally honest example, there's a flash of caution in my mind every time I do "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe" with my grandkids to be sure I don't accidentally say the wrong thing. Does it disgust me? Absolutely. But I think it would be harmful for me to deny that that lizard brain wiring is still there, and enough decades have passed with me being on the "right" side of things to know that it's not going away completely.
I agree in regards to the childhood poison and being honest with oneself. I heard plenty of that stuff but never felt comfortable in that situation. There was one black joke that I remember repeating but I think I was more impressed by the sexual connotations than any implied racism. But I certainly didn't do much in the way of stopping it - I simply wasn't comfortable enough with my own place in society yet. And there was once a girl that had a handicap involving her arms. Someone told me she had a crush on me and I mimicked her from across the room. I still remember the pain on her face some 30 years later and I am horribly ashamed of the kid who did that. Still think about it sometimes. Kids can be just awful but hopefully most of us grow up - well I never intend to grow up in some regards but I certainly did in that one.

you've never shared nudes of someone?
ever?
Well for better or worse, I’ve sent pecker pics to my wife via text. I was young and naive, not understanding the ramifications of the “cloud”. This was yesterday. Today, I’m a new man and have learned my lesson. I’ve issued her a public apology for my behavior. She told me it was ok and that dinner was ready.

The worse part is the “LOL” that she returned every time I sent them. :covri:

He shouldn’t resign. Nobody is perfect. If you think you are you are wrong
You are right. He should have just been fired.
What would your employer do if they found emails like this that were sent to other people in the organisation, even though you sent them before you worked there? Especially that language toward your bosses boss? Are you saying your boss would just be like, well, thats just like your opinion man...?

Imagine my doe-like eyes as I say, please, don't ever change... :hihi:

Although Synder is part of this, I think it's bigger them because the emails went to other people who clearly had no problem with the tone of the conversation. It's obvious they are shielding WFT because they were instructed to put together a verbal report with no written record(who does that in an official investigation).
The NFL.

NFL works with and probably employs or has as consultants lots of former FBI and spooks. All the tricks will be there and Goodell will always leverage.

Protect the shield, shield the billionaires.

At least 2 tiers of rules and standards.

Which begs the question...would you be ok with Goodell getting taken down...if it also meant that Payton was going down?
Only if deserved. Goodell probably deserves it. Payton, as far as I know, not so much.
I have a legal question.
Since he was sharing nudes of the WFT cheerleaders is that an arrest able offense? If it was without their consent.
And if they were taken without consent, I don't want to see them.
I don’t think everyone writes likes this in email though pretty sure just about everyone thinks like this.
No, not close to everyone thinks like this. I don't, my kids don't, as far as I know, most of my friends don't.
Hopefully they don’t release. Not everything had to be public knowledge.
I want it all released. As some others have said, if this burns it all down, so be it. Corporate emails have no right or expectation of privacy.
you've never shared nudes of someone?

No, I haven't, let alone pics taken or distributed without consent. I'm not even sure why it would be a good idea.

Emily Applegate was just speaking on CNN about how toxic & destructive the work environment was at the Washington football headquarters.

As she was speaking her boobs were hanging out of her shirt with a glaring 4 inches of cleavage.

I don’t get it. Men don’t interview with their b**** hanging out.

Why should women be shocked if folks stare when 1/2 their chest is exposed?!?!?

Yesterday we received our first Christmas 🎄 catalog for 2021. Sure enough, right on the cover is a lady with her boobs hanging out with 4 inches of cleavage & a man is putting a jewelry around her neck.

Does not matter to me how folks want to dress, I just can’t understand the dichotomy between how men & women appear in professional settings…..ESPECIALLY when they are fighting for the cause of being respected in the workplace?!?!?!
