LSU’s HC Next Year Will Be… (3 Viewers)

Any of those three would do better than Coach Boudin. Bill O'Brien ran a good program at Penn State before moving to the Texans. He was doing well there until he became the gm as well as head coach. LSU would do well with him.
My problem with the list is that there really can't be any way that they are the top 3 on the wish list. Woodward is known for his splash hires, and none of them check that box for me.

Don't get me wrong - I don't necessarily need a big name hire, but the list from this guy screams that it's the list that you tell everyone you want to get the real targets jealous that you're looking elsewhere.

I'll also add - I saw something on Bill O'Brien a few years back, might have been Hard Knocks now that I think about it, and I think he's a great dude. He's probably a better man than me. I just would prefer that he not lead my favorite college football team.

And, Stoops has done a great job with the KY team, but I'm not warmed up to him either.

Bill Obrien along with Jimbo and Stoops are not on my list... if Obrien were on a list it would be on the same one as Jim McElwain and Butch Davis... the "oh god no" list. There could be worse hires, but they are not on my radar.

I can't believe O'Brien is high on any list, given his track record and high drama with the Texans.

As a matter of logic and common sense, I think three candidates high on the list are Mario Cristobal, Dave Aranda and Matt Campbell. I think, after Les Miles and Ed Orgeron, LSU will be placing emphasis on high competency and stability in its hiring decision. That Iowa State has had a disappointing decision must be evaluated, but should not disqualify Campbell.

Texans record with him as HC:

9-7
9-7
9-7
4-12
11-5
10-6
Fired after 0-4 his last season.

Agreed the Texans situation was a mess once he was doing two jobs there, but he is a good coach. Learned under Belichick and Saban, was Brady's QB coach from 2000-2011, and an Offensive Assistant when they went 16-0. Held together a Penn St program in utter disarray.

Hell to the no on Bill O' Brien. This guy alienated his star quarterback almost right away. Heavy pass.

And yet he was fired. O'Brien set back by years the Texans franchise, though his personnel decisions were the principal factor. In Houston, he did not play nice with others. And it is inconceivable that he would be seriously considered for another head-coaching position in the NFL. LSU does not need O'Brien's drama. I would be shocked and saddened were O'Brien LSU's hire.

is the pressure to succeed at LSU keeping coaches away? If that is our top 3 than hell fire the AD lol rather take chance on a decent OC /assistant or DC/assistant from the NFL and find the next breed of caoching than go with the OLD squad
