Looks like they need to reintroduce wolves. Deer and Elk can do a lot of damage to an ecosystem if they don't have
a natural predator to keep their population in check.

Either that or allow controlled hunting

IDK how they determine that this is one organism but I was fascinated by an NPR podcast about trees and how they communicate.

Peter says this communication between trees is not just one way. It’s a two way conversation, with electrical and chemical signals sent back and forth. For example, trees are warning each other about insect attacks or heavy droughts, so they can prepare each other in advance.

Peter brings up a study from the University of Leipzig in Germany that showed how trees warn each other and help each other defend against predators like deer.

"When a deer is the feeding on little beech trees, then the little tree is able to judge by the saliva of the deer, 'Ah, that's a deer!'" Peter said. "And then it pumps poisonous substances in the leaves. And it's warning its companions -- surrounding little beech siblings."

 
I thought the problem with them was the noise on take off, not at cruising altitude.
Possibly, I never paid much attention to the issue with those as I'm not a fan of flying. I was only thinking of the soundwave generated by breaking the speed of sound. I'd guess that is manageable by speed controls vs area.
 
Supersonic Jetliners?
I had the same thought at first but I don’t think so.

The sonic boom isn’t just loud, it has to do with sound waves catching up to each other. So it’s not like the boom is emanating from one portion of a plane, like an engine. The engine itself isn’t what creates the sonic boom, it’s the whole airplane. Even if you encased an entire craft in this material then you’d still get the sonic boom if that material breaks the sound barrier.

If you created a tunnel from this material and had an object within the tunnel break the sound barrier, that’d be a different story I think.

The problem with the supersonic craft isn’t noise at take off, it’s when they break the sound barrier, even if it’s at 30,000 ft.
