So...we're bad. Everyone knows this. Sean knows it. We know it. The players know it. And I'm not here trying to cast blame.

While we may not have been the most hopeful with Jameis, it was at least going to be fun, and that's with or without MT. But now.?. Jameis goes down, MT out, Kamara out, Ingram signed and now hurt, Lutz hurt, backups can't even make extra points, Siemian asked to lead the pack, and the list of other injuries goes on and on. I mean, *damn*, THAT is really bad. I've been a fan for a long minute and don't recall it being this bad.

So I've now gotta ask the infamous question: do you intentionally tank the remaining games (as if we could win one if we even tried), or do you continue "playing to win the game"?

In particular, I've got a poll up.

Assuming that YOU could snap your fingers and have only one of the two following scenarios occur, which would you choose:
  1. We tank the remaining games, go 5 - 12 and get a higher draft pick, which is by no means a guarantee of a brighter future, OR
  2. We "play to win the game" and manage to win three more games, keeping us out of the playoffs and losing high draft position in the process.

This is an easy question because it gives us the result that helps our team more. If you're saying we don't make the playoffs, then why would anyone vote for that when the other option is we are guaranteed a better draft pick?

The better option would have been we sneak into the playoffs as a 7 seed but go one and done like Chicago did last year. Then maybe fans would have to ponder if they'd prefer 1 extra game vs a better draft pick.

I would love to see them smash the cowboys (because I’ll be in that number for the game), and everything after that is gravy.

Truthfully, losing out is better for the long term.

Look at what the Patriots did last season. It was obvious Belichick was doing the "unintentional intentional walk". Sure, one bad season had all the talk of "Belichick is done" and "Brady made Belichick"... well don't look now but the Patriots are 8-4 with a +146 scoring differential and the #1 scoring defense in the league. If the playoffs started tomorrow they'd be the #1 overall seed in the AFC. Mac Jones has only been getting better and better and to everyone's misery, the Patriots again look poised to be a perennial contender.

I get it, watching the Saints lose sucks, but this upcoming draft is looking very top heavy and shallow, and I'd rather stomach one bad season to get the best possible chance at a decade long franchise player than wind up converting another Center to Guard or Tackle.

Tanking with 5 wins already is just silly. I want to see improvement. It's probably already too late to get a blue chip prospect as it is. We needs to see growth of our current players, that is our only chance of being able to compete soon.
