Maybe I missed it somewhere on another thread but why can’t Ian Book okay instead of Trevor or an injured Hill? I mean is he injured too? It’s not like he would be the first rookie QB to play in a regular season game. I mean I just don’t get it sometimes with this coaching staff. You have nothing to lose at this point.

They're 5-6. They might be trying to win still 👍
Well, they're almost guaranteed not to win with Siemien at the helm. If Hill can't go at QB, I hope Payton is seriously considering giving Book a shot. If Book is really a downgrade from Siemien, that would not bode well for his NFL future.

He's a rookie 4th rounder. The chances of him ever developing into a starter is remote as best, and the likelihood that he would be good right now is even more remote. At this point, I hope he develops into a solid backup QB, because apparently he isn't yet...otherwise, he'd be on the field right now because the bar is set impossibly low.

That's a question you would have to ask CSP for a definitive answer. But, I would guess it's because CSP doesn't want his development mentally challenged by playing behind a line with as many holes as ours. I'm sure he has a decent grasp on the playbook, just not enough experience to run for his life while trying to move the ball downfield.
Edit: LOL..."mentally challenged" isn't the word I used!

Some have said that putting him out there with our depleted OL & WR’s could hurt his progression and mental toughness. I call B$ on that, playing time is playing time and if he’s that mentally fragile he doesn’t need to be in the NFL anyway.

I’m all for seeing what he has and letting him get some reps against NFL talent and speed. If he’s worse than TS then put him on the practice squad and use his roster spot on someone who can play.

I ask you back the question.

Do you think that Sean Payton is trying every week to get the team in the best position to win?

Do you think we as fans know something that is skipping on Sean Payton and the rest of the coaching staff?

Have Ian Book show enough during practice that he has enough to be better than the current options at quarterback.

I know we are getting impatient with the way the season is going, but certainly Sean Payton is not thinking about next year, he is thinking about the cowboys.

I don't know if we will see Ian Book or not this season, but I am sure he will be there if Sean considers he is the best option to win the next game, whenever that may be.

Because they want a healthy O line and Running game before they throw him to the wolves. But I think we will see him in the next couple of weeks

remember how we saw Callaway and JJohnson ball out during pre-season - now multiply that by 20 and you might get how seemingly over-hyped Book is for some

rookie QB behind a beat-up line with no weapons to throw to
Ds would be blitzing 75% of the time
what possible benefit could there be?

What the vast majority of fans, including me, do not know is how Book is doing at practice and meetings. At this point we still have some chance, however small, to get a playoff birth snd the Coach, IMO, is going to give us the best chance to win games. If we are realistically eliminated then I could see in week 16 or 17 letting book get some game experience, but we are no there yet !

Hey but wasn’t that guy in Tampa a 7th rounder?
