Another school shooting in MI... (1 Viewer)

Is there a problem with me if I struggle to even care about this shooting? Americans kill middle eastern families with drones all the time, and no one really cares. You have very deliberate killing on the one hand and just random murder to compare it to, and people just get upset about this teen committing murder, but there’s no real anger about deliberate US killing in the Middle East. It’s kinda crazy to the point that these US teens killing classmates is pretty much meaningless to me.

You think Americans care about this teen killing other kids? You honestly think we collectively give a damn about any of those children that lost their life? They may succeed in naming a stadium after the one kid or creating memorials to the others, but we're going to do just as much about their deaths as we do the killings in the Middle East. That is to say, nothing to prevent it from happening again. There's no collective real anger about either of these events.

I don’t really care so I don’t see why anyone else would.

Apples and oranges because there is, in theory, justification for what we do in the middle east. No one other than those involved really knows what exactly we are doing there and why, but there is a reason. That alone is a problem of course, but without an easy solution.

The real dissonance here is the attention paid to school shootings like this vs. daily "normal" gun violence that takes kids one by one at a much higher frequency.

I don’t buy into the “theory” regarding the Middle East but I understand your point. There’s lots of dissonance and I just feel mostly nothing about any of these shootings. I really don’t care, doesn’t involve me.

Currently being reported the Crumbley's (parents of the shooter) are now missing upon hearing they were officially charged. No news reports yet to link.

Closest I can find for now:

Police are searching for Michigan school shooting suspect's parents

Police are currently searching for Michigan school shooting suspect Ethan Crumbley’s parents just hours before they are scheduled to be arraigned on involuntary manslaughter charges, according to authorities.

Also, when did Michigan become Florida? Why is everyone there always so mad?

Callous and cynical...eh. To each his own I guess.

I don't guess they have any swamps nearby to search?.....

Sure, that’s another valid way to look at it.
